Bright gets axed

Former Santos coach David Bright, the one-time Botswana army major, has been handed his marching orders by the country's champions Gaborone United.
Bright had only joined the club in March after departing South Africa where he had worked at Cape Town-based Santos and Bay United in Port Elizabeth.
Bright is being replaced by the Zimbabwean Mike Sithole, who returns to Gaborone United after helping them win last year's championship.
Sithole did not stay on for the new season with the club and was replaced by the former Zambian Manfred Chabinga, who engineered a famous win for the club over Orlando Pirates in the first round of the African Champions League in February.
But despite his success, Chabinga was shown the door just a few weeks later and Bright brought in.
The ex-army officer had left Santos at the end of last season to take up a better offer from Bay United, who were hoping he would lead back to the premier league. But the combination proved a flop and Bright did not complete the season in Port Elizabeth.
He is now also out of another job in Botswana with Sithole back to take charge of GU's home match against Haras al Hodoud of Egypt in the African Confederation Cup in the Botswana capital at the weekend.
