Walters to stay with Maritzburg

Posted: 2010-07-12 12:59

Goalkeeper Shu-Aib Walters will be staying with Maritzburg United this season.

Walters announced earlier that he was longer interested in playing for Bloemfontein Celtic after his loan move to United expired at the end of last season.

The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was also linked with move Ajax Cape Town.

Speaking to KickOff.com, Walters said Maritburg's vision and ambitions for the new season are some of reasons that made him choose the club ahead of other PSL teams that were interested in his services.

“There were lot of clubs interested in my services but Maritburg showed more interest. I was here last season and enjoyed myself and that's another reason why I decided to stay with the club."

I doubt if there was any team interested in you, Shuaib.. What you are saying is just marketing yourself. You and me both know that you were lucky to be selected in the Bafana final squad for the 2010 World Cup.!!!

I fully agree with Chisto :) - Shuaib enjoy your last season in the PSL you still need to reap your bad seed sown whilst in Vodacom league and that's a fact!!!!!!!!! you cannot stop a team from being promoted and think your own selfish needs will be met.
