Cruyff - Kuyt worth his weight in gold

Netherlands legend Johan Cruyff has hailed the World Cup form of Dutch forward Dirk Kuyt following a string of impressive performances for the European side.

Kuyt has started each of the Netherland's six World Cup games leading into the final, scoring one goal and assisting two, and Cruyff has been impressed by the Liverpool man throughout the tournament, specifically pinpointing his performance against Brazil in the quarter-final upset as the highlight.

"Look at what he did [so far in the World Cup]," Cruyff told reporters. "He started on the right, then at forward and against Brazil on the left.

"Not only did he keep [Brazilian right-back] Maicon out of the game, he also set up the winner.

"Someone like that is worth his weight in gold."

Kuyt made 53 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season, scoring 11 goals.

The Netherlands, having beaten Uruguay 3-2 in the World Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening, will take on either Spain or Germany in the World Cup final on Sunday in Johannesburg.

I think he is no doubt, one of the best we are seeing now... he has exhited tremendous performances in all his games so far! More luck to the Netherlands, I love the team, mostly Van persie and Robben... you guyz are the best. I'm with you all the way. BoboUwa.

Holland is a revelation, this is the best balanced team and it showes. I would like to se them with spain in the final even though i think Germany is a well oiled machine that will rquire a miracle to stop them. Kuyt, Robben, Schneider(My best player in Holland in this world cup) are magic. Its about time these guy take teh world cup. They have always been the best European team who never quiete made it there.

He lead the Dutch forwards with great example and his work-rate on the game is of world class. I like this as he run tirelessly, always giving the defenders of the opposite team something to ponder on. To me he's the reason why the Netherlands are on the final stage.
