Portsmouth and Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena is wanted by West Ham United.

According to a report in The Sun today, Hammers new boss Avram Grant has tracked the Pompey defender Mokoena but is put off by the South Africa captain's R600 000-a-week wages.

However, Mokoena hasn't ruled out staying at Fratton Park in next season's Championship.

Hehehehe Captain my Captain... Go Mr Axe Go... May you get a deal you deserve. You have served us (the nation) with distinction and loyalty...May the doors of opportunities stay open for you...

Swona (Treble): 2010-07-06 16:24

distinction! what distinction? putting the first goal of the world cup in his own net on his home stadium? if it was not for this cow who is so afraid of the ball, we should have won against Mexico, why was he diving?

Swona (Treble): 2010-07-06 16:24

he will play few games, the rest on the bench! watch the space

JMasterJ: 2010-07-06 18:59

Kodwa labantu bayithandani lenkomo madoda?

KidKudu7: 2010-07-06 19:19

R600 000-a-week wages, my foot. Mokoena is just stealing the FA money. He need to be charged for FRAUD & banned from football for life, as he's a FAKE FOOTBALLER ever come from South Africa (Africa).

KidKudu7: 2010-07-06 19:23

@ Brokefan

Hey my man, I take it that you're just cracking a joke. This guy deserves to play American football or in the boxing ring, not soccer. He has cost us on countless occassions and personnally I really feel we are being robbed of our money by going to the stadiums to watch this guy plays.

MANDLA: 2010-07-06 22:07

Ole(The Guru): 2010-07-07 07:15

@ King

Well Said

Dikotsi: 2010-07-07 08:26

Well said Chain Gang. The only thing about this guy is that he's got a strong Muti and i think it was the last one on earth. That Muti is now extinct.
How can 45million people not see what 5 people are suppossedly seeing? is it possible...if yes then i think Democracy is a futile system.
King my aoutie, God help us, that experienc Mokoena has must just go underground with him. It will be a curse to give it to our young defenders. hehehehehe...i dont like mokoena guys. Maybe you should not take me seriously but he has caused pain in my heart over a number of years withhis costly mistake at the back. Hwehehehehe

Wonder: 2010-07-07 09:00

Just goes to show, you can't keep a good man down with your hatred. Mbazo you're a role model for many youngsters in the country, keep it up. You,Benni and Pienaar are probably the most decorated players to ever represent Bafana.

Busani: 2010-07-07 09:21

If this is true, I really don't how he does it, but hey, good luck man.

Its either WC has got someone soft or he does not care much because this is not about KC or maybe he's just busy. BrokeFan being challanged and just keep quiet??? I'm not complaining, I just feel that we gonna have a good PSL season ahead... with a total oposite of a man he was last season, thank goodness.

Maestro KC: 2010-07-07 09:27

KING: 2010-07-07 07:55

If he is played out of position then why would the young defenders need his experience?

I agree with you that he is not captain material...

BrokeFan: 2010-07-07 09:31

Ja ne!, one blogger Wonder once said: You can't keep a good man down. Our negative attitudes towards this good man can never bring him down. The Captain is one of the most wanted players in Europe. The Europeans are seeing what most of South Africans don’t see. Like Olebogeng says: It is not by fluke Mbazo played in Europe for 12 years. The Captain is definitely becoming one of the greatest players SA has ever produced. We have to start seeing through our eyes and not through our emotions. Castrol Index has rated Mbazo as the Best player for Bafana in our 3 World Cup games. Mbazo is the best defender we have, Like it or Not...

papzen: 2010-07-07 09:51

@ Brokefan: first time ever I disagree with you khosilam! Funny enough is that I am unable to argue logically about his lack of football skills mainly due to his achievements. How do I say the play cant play football but on record he has plyaed at tghe highest level and has over 100 caps for his country? Quite a contracdictory statement, However I stil maintain that Mbazo is still one lucky player ever who has failed not only the clubs he has played for but his country! Reputation plays a big role in achieving certain results. Meaning a reputable company can sell you crap but due to its reputation as a big succesfull company people will continue buying that crap!! Di I talk like an Athiest who does not believe GOD exist but there is ample proof that indeed there is a GOD? YOU DECIDE!!!

Mthizozo: 2010-07-07 10:06

He may be good in europe but He is crap in Bafana Bafana. We don't hate him, why would you bother yourself by hating someone who doesn't even know you. We are just soccer lovers. He must just share his experience outside the field now, we don't need him in the squad. I'm telling if the new coach doesn't get rid of this guy, we are not going anywhere.

I don't agree with you King when you say he is played out of position in BB because he left the country to Europe as a defender and he was called to the National team because he was good defender then. Infact he is played out of position in Europe not in Bafana. Bafana Bafana has never played Mokoena out of position. I do agree with you on many things you say about him, but he's good in Europe, not here.

BrokeFan: 2010-07-07 10:14

papzen: 2010-07-07 09:51

hahahaha I hear you Khos'lami, I like the way you argue your point: "a reputable company can sell you crap but due to its reputation as a big succesfull company people will continue buying that crap" true that. But we must remember that Avram Grant is the same coach that made Aaron the captain at Portsmouth, the guy definitely sees something in him that we don't see...

Mthizozo: 2010-07-07 10:16

Now you are telling me about his ex-managers and things he does community and all that. I'm not gonna argue with you King, I'm talking from foothball pespective mna (meaning what he has done for his national team), lendoda isibulele.

Mthizozo: 2010-07-07 11:45

Chain Gang: 2010-07-07 11:35

Even ladies who never played soccer will tell you the same thing broer. May be it's a different story in Europe but not here. Uyasidlisa apha...

Wonder: 2010-07-07 11:48

Every time you evaluate something emotionally, you will inevitable make irrational conclusions. the current system used in the World to rate players scientifically and holistically is the castrol index, and from what i gather from Brokefan, they rated Mbazo the best player for Bafana. coaches from local and abroad (and i'm not talking about populists) rate Mbazo very highly, both for his talent, ability and leadership qualities. Bafana Bafana players have nothing but praise for Mbazo, international stars have nothing but praise for Mbazo and yet some South African supporters have a problem with him.

I will not pass judgement on anyone, least of all not soccer lovers of Mzantsi, but i will want each of you to decide for yourself whether you're right or wrong about the guy. another question i will like from you to answer is this, Is the castrol index rating system wrong? Aserne Wenger works for the same guys in this project if i'm not mistaken. Well, soccer is a sports of opinions and anybody is entitled to his, but it is very wrong to say people believing otherwise are wrong. the incompetent SABC ****ists are to blame for most of this. Phil Masinga suffered from the same band, Dr Khumalo even wanted to retire early because of the same people, Old John suffered the same fate, yes the very same Old John that they now wanted in the team, remember the time he went with Queroz to Afcon?

Be that as it may, good luck Mbazo...!!!!!!!!

Wonder: 2010-07-07 11:53

Mthizozo: 2010-07-07 11:43

Is yours Technical and scientific or just emotional judgement? Too much SABC has clouded so many people's judgement (not you specifically).

Btw, on the issue about women and kids, you're quite right and thats because they do not know soccer as you have admitted, which then answers the question about all this outbursts being devoid of rationality. that was the point i was trying to raise all along..!!

Mthizozo: 2010-07-07 12:47

I don't watch EPL but if he is good there he is good, I don't have a problem with that. I'm only talking about his BB perfomances because I only see him there. I don't rely on statistics because I don't know how they work out those results. I mean to say Aaron is topping Bafana Bafana players in this WC doesn't make sense to me. I will never change my views about him unless he stop costing us games (I'm afraid it's too late 4 dat, I don't want him now). Why there's so much debate about him if he is good as you say Wonder? Why is the country devided on him?

Good luck to him, I wish him all the best...

Wonder: 2010-07-07 12:58

Mthizozo: 2010-07-07 12:47

The country was divided in Zuma, T Mbeki and Mandela, why? because its their democratic right and people are entitled to their opinions. what is very disturbing for me is the irrationality behind the whole thing, i've never denied that he made mistakes, all i'm saying is that he can not be as bad as people make him out to be if the above mentioned stats in my comment above is anything to go by!

Mthizozo: 2010-07-07 14:01

Wena King you've abused for ten years no wonder ubhuda nje. You are used to praising non-achievers. Yes I blame Pitso and parreira for selecting Mokoena, they let themselves down.

Wonder, I don't normally disagree with you nabo Brokefan bra. Your comments are always wise but when it come to this guy hayi cha ngeke. I'm one of the people who always call for Benny McCarthy because when he is not on the squad, his absence is felt. I don't think we will ever regret Aaron's exlcusion from the national team.

JMasterJ: 2010-07-07 16:19

Mokoena uyinkomo (you are a cow)!!!!!!!!!!!

fire: 2010-07-12 23:07

Wonder Sandawana, you always make sense however where Mokoena is concerned I beg to differ. His captaincy is probably the worst sice re-admission.Only Steve Kompela's is worse.Nakhona we were just new to the international stage.Enter Mokoena we have plumeted so much in world rankings.Noone is saying it is his fault, unfortunately he did not help much in arresting the decline.

Mpho Putini: 2010-07-13 18:33

All the best Captain.... I hope you have learned from your mistakes...do your thing

Bin Laden: 2010-07-15 10:17
