Eriksson jumps Ivory Coast ship

Sven-Goran Eriksson has refused to confirm where his future lies after stepping down as Ivory Coast manager.

His team crashed out of the World Cup 2010 on Friday, despite a 3-0 win against Korea DPR, and now that the Swede’s short-term deal as coach has ended, he has been linked with a return to club management.

Fulham remains his most likely destination, with current Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson expected to take up the vacant manager's position at Liverpool.

But Eriksson remained coy on his future, saying: “It was very clear when I took the job it was to the end of our World Cup and that is today.

“From tomorrow I will stay some days, maybe watching some football and then I will take some holiday. Then, we will see, I don't know.”

Eriksson is the second coach of an African team to step down after Paul le Guen quit his job with the Cameroon national team.

Good for African football, go back to Europe and leave African football alone. $2million for three weeks job is not bad. African football administrators are still very naive and they would continue to waste our scarce funds on white failed coaches.
