Jonathan Mensah is thrilled to have finally made his World Cup debut for Ghana in the 1-1 draw against Australia and insists he is more than capable of dealing with the pressure.
Mensah and Lee Addy, who replaced the established central defensive pairing of John Mensah and Isaac Vorsah, looked shaky and nervous for long spells of the game but the Udinese defender is proud to have come through it.
"It was a massive game on a massive stage and to have played a part in it was special for me," the defender told KickOffGhana.com.
"I felt no nerves, just a determination to go out there and play the way I always have and I got a lot of support from the other guys in the side. Now I feel I am adequately prepared if the boss needs me against Germany."
Mensah, a member of the Under-20 World Cup winning team was making only his third appearance for Ghana at the senior level after making his debut against Malawi in January.
He could be playing again against Germany on Wednesday with doubts about Isaac Vorsah and John Mensah still unresolved.
