Kaizer Chiefs have made their first signing in preparation for next season after securing the services of Free State Stars striker Sthembiso Ngcobo.
"Following close and protracted negotiations, Ngcobo signed a three year contract that commences in the new season," confirms Chiefs on their club website.
The 26-year-old's relationship with Ea Lla Koto had soured after he asked to be placed on the transfer list and was subsequently told to train on his own.
During the 2008/09 season Ngcobo started 20 League games for Stars and scored 10 goals, but the past season turned out differently. He started 12 League games in an injury-ravaged season and failed to score.
Chiefs have also confirmed their head of youth development Walter Steenbok has resigned to join Mamelodi Sundowns' youth academy.
"The management and staff of Kaizer Chiefs wish Mr. Steenbok success in his future endeavours," reads a statement from Chiefs.
Meanwhile, football manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed to KickOff.com that Jose Torrealba has signed a new one-year deal. "Torrealba is staying for one more season," Motaung says.
