No injury worries for Taye Taiwo

Posted: 13 June 2010 Time: 09:02

Nigeria assistant coach Roland Andersson says left back Taye Taiwo sustained no serious injury despite being taken off with 15 minutes of play left.

Taiwo stayed down after his venomous effort just skimmed past Romero's goal and was replaced by Kalu Uche, with Taye Taiwo going to cover at left back, but Andersson told KickOffNigeria.com that the defender was fine.

"He is okay. Nothing serious and he will be ready for the next game," Andersson said.

i think he had a good game but should work on his set pieces. he is losing those bullet shots i use to know him for. still cant forget his bullet shot goal against iwuanyanwu when he was in gabros that made the fans of owerri running into us and beating us up for loosing at home in owerri.

As I've said before that the Nigeria team will be beaten by Argentina & I was right. It could have been worse but thanks to the goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, he really saved the team from hell.

@Kaizer7 Why can't u stick to kickoff South Africa and leave kickoff Nigeria alone. It's ppl like you that give SA a bad name. Ur comments are not welcome here. It seems u want attention as u have been posting the same comment all over. WARNING to I.D.O.T.S like you, if u dont have reasonable comments pls stick 2 your other side of kickoff where narrow minded ppl like u are.

to all d good people supporting SE,u can at least take a proud walk,we were nt disgrace as some of those maggots who see nothing good in d SE had wished. We defended against the top scorers in spain n italy n only 1 goal was scored.4get about chances missed.chances must come in every match.Even mourinho's inter did nt defend against against such number of quality strikers.Yet these failures who hv not achieved anythn in their life will always sit on their chair to say Dan Shittu,Yobo,Kanu, Amodu,Lars etc are nt good. They shud 4 1s check themselves whether they are good 4 anythn.BRAVO SE,BRAVO LARS,N BRAVO AMODU 4 u would ve still done well afterall england wt all their so called stars cud only manage a draw against USA.

Dear Kaizer7 & other haters:

1. Is Enyeama not part of d squad? What is his role in the defense? allow ***** in or prevent them?Pls enough of the craps!!!!So, Green killed England? that is.
2. Yes, Lags didnt shake his hand but did Maradona offered his hand and he refused? the report is not complete. Or did Maradona complain?
3. Yes, Mexico goal was offside according to the rule. But i thot in that game also, Ikhumeng kept SA in the match in d 1st half even against Mexico? Surely, Mexico isnt in d same class of Arg or Brazil. Can any African defense performed better under the circumstance yesterday vs Arg? Remember what Messi did to ****nal, Man U in the CL even with so called world class defenders? U forgot so soon ****ne Wenger's description of him (magical) after the debacle?
Yes, we know SE needs improvement just like every other team even the Argies (check their defense), but credit must be given to the team (Enyeama is part )& crew for a good job.

YES! nice analysis by Bibby (Oh boy you too good) i dont like contributing in this forum because of some bad eggs that will just open their dirty mouth and talk nonsense here, even though they know the truth but will never say it so that we can say at least they contribute something. But no matter your plan against the success of SE and the technical crew, God will disgrace you and makes Eagles succeed, Go Super Eagles.

Whenever I logon this kickoff site to read news, I always feel bad by the comments people post here, why can’t Africa Unite for once. I think the best thing to do is for kickoff owners to close comments posting

Please he should tell his Banana men not to be the first host to be knocked out in group stages.
They should not let us down cos the ill wind has started blowing
