Luton Town replaces Upton Park for Eagles

Posted: 24 May 2010 Time: 10:11 pm

Nigeria’s international friendly against Colombia will now be played at Luton Town’s stadium.

The game was originally scheduled for West Ham’s Upton Park, but NFF Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire said that was no longer the case.

“The international friendly match between Nigeria and Colombia earlier scheduled for West Ham’s Upton Park ground has now been moved to Luton Town,” Olajire told KickOffNigeria.com, but did not give any reason for the change.

The match date of 30 May remains unchanged.

Thank God that this game is gonna hold.Kinda got worried with the on-off situation of this game. Do not know reasons for cancellation, got a hunch it could be a mess with West Ham's hierarchy-those two men are a band of thugs!

How are we going to be sure the match will not be cancell before the date? we they can change the venue six days to the match, then anything can happen. Though it might not be NFF that coursed it, but anything can still happen.I do not believe any friendlie with NFF until the players file out from the dressing room.

Wow, what is going on here. Why is the FA finding it difficult to organise this friendly. They started with Leyton Orient ground, then there was a rumour that it will be played at the Queens Park Rangers ground, later Upton Park was confirmed as the venue, now its Luton Town stadium. Na wa o, this is free madness, how long will it take the FA to learn how to get the basics right. I dont even believe that the game will be played.

Please guys, stop all these criticisms. The most important thing is for the friendly match to be played and not where it is played. The venue has been changed...fullstop!! At this point in time we should be ready to swim and sink with the eagles no matter the challenges. That is our patriotic duty.

NFF CANT ORGANISE A PARTY IN A BEWERY
This people are a joke, catoon, comedy club, they shud be called NCC, nigerian comedy club, why cant they do things properly and always messsing things up, it does look bad on the NFF. All dis mungus shud be sacked after the worldcuP.

Why do they make announcements before sorting out evrything, its a shame, and they are making all nigerian look bad in the face of the world.

Apprently, sometime they make statements to the press, that the world media pic up on, one member was saying nigeria ahs always cheated in the uder age tournaments, thats just irresponsible, you have to get ur facts right.

They are also reports that the NFF are demanding for huge sums of money from teams to play the eagles, if thhis is true, its a joke, whhy cant the NFF be ashamed and jus pack their agbadas and go, before them shame all of us.

Argentina beat Canada, last I saw 5 nil. I would say I like what Diego ****** is doing. Play against a team that is hardly known on the world stage, no offense to Canadians. This was more of a practice than a full blown international Match. Maybe SE should play India. By the way do they (India) have a national soccer team? Good strategy

The European Team that will win this year's WC played a disappointing friendly match today. My prediction stands. A new country will lift the World Cup. and that country is from Europe.. Again they played out a disappointing friendly match today.

@Guys, i know we have crap men running our football, but i can't criticise them on the cancellation of the Eagles match without knowing the reason.

i wonder if the colombian are critising their FA.

We can't critise just for the sake of it. find out the reason first, if it was our FA that defaulted then we can critise them. so far, all criticism on this matter are wrong and uncalled for.

hey all,
I wrote the foxsport journalist that dissed the supereagles. i wrote in simple english that he can understand.obviously, he's moron and in the past he wrote something about klinsman hired to coach US team. This guys name is jamie trecker lives in chicago,jamie.trecker@gmail.com
http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/32countries/story/Nigeria-32-teams-in-32-days

if we dont speak up we let idiotic like this guy define us. email him and let him have a piece of your mind.

"I am writing in response to your article on the super-eagles. The article shows how ignorant, idiotic and moronic you are. You write up stuff without any source or based on facts. This is not politics where you can write whatever you think will grab most attention or sales. I wonder what other qualified sport journalist was looked over for you to get this job. it’s a shame you accused a country you know nothing about of corruption, backward with no progress but meanwhile you live in the most corrupt nation on the face of the planet. The richest country, yet no free health care for all. you've had democracy for over 250 years but women and black can not vote until 50 yrs ago. A country where leaders lied to go to war and no repercussion, corporations buy politicians from both parties to further their agenda, corporation rent a room offshore to pay less taxes and I'm not going to talk about how genocide was committed against the natives. so, you have no moral grounds to accuse a country 50yrs old of corruption and mismanagement. Although Nigeria is still corrupt, US, UK and other major Europeans countries have been a safe haven Nigerian loot. if you accept and keep any proceed of a crime. YOU ARE A CRIMINAL YOURSELF. Jamie trecker, I also read your articles about Klinsman hired to coach US soccer team. Therefore, I can say unequivocally that you are a MORON from your pattern of your articles. Did you know that US is the only country over the last 20years that has benefited more from Nigeria's economy, currency and development collapsing.

Go back to school and re-learn journalism before writing about anything."
