Dolphins all but extinguished Kano Pillars title hopes with a 1-1 draw in Kano on Saturday.
Frustrated Pillars fans went berserk after the game, attacking Dolphins players and officials and holding them hostage.
Enyimba's victory at Ranchers Bees on Thursday meant that Pillars needed to win to return to the top of the log, but Dolphins were in no mood to play ball, literally.
Ghanaian Owusu Addae put the visitors in front after 37 minutes, worsening the home team's already jangling nerves.
It took until deep into second half stoppage time, and after a pitch invasion lasting nearly 20 minutes, before Ahmed Musa converted a penalty.
The goal was clocked at 97 minutes.
Enyimba, who are one point clear with two games in hand, play Gateway in Abeokuta on Sunday.
