Damon to handle Nedbank Final

Jerome Damon will be the referee for Saturday's Nedbank Cup Final, the second time in three years he has taken charge of the event. 

Enoch Molefe, who like Damon is bound for the World Cup next month, will be the first assistant with Geronimo Piedt the second assistant.
 
All three officials are school teachers although Damon has taken six months off from his schoolwork to prepare for the World Cup.
 
The panel is drawn from three provinces with Damon from the Cape, Molefe based in Bloemfontein and Piedt hailing from Port Elizabeth.
 
Damon handled the Final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Mpumalanga Black Aces two years ago. 
 
His only other domestic Final has been in the Top Eight competition.
 
Damon and Molefe are due to begin their World Cup preparations in Pretoria on June 3.

dis pathetic chiefs card carrying supporter is overated. He's a plain cheat. For dis game he'll get instructions from Bobby'killer'Motaung as to has to win. He couldnt judge properly during de african cup of nation and am nt sure what dey saw to whoever appointed him for world cup. He's bad news to soccer except at natulawayo. He has immensely contributed to de achievement of dis hence he's been promised a job there after retirement

Hey Damon, I hope you'll do your Job Fair & Square. Plz don't influence the results of the game into Wits or Amazulu. Only the best team must win that game. Remember, we'll be watching you, buddy.

Well I don't mind whether he carries that Chiefs membershipcard in the game tommorow but what's important is that he applies rules of the game to both clubs equally. He must never be a DEMON in the beautiful game.

It will be a boring stop-start game with this referee in charge with a lot of bookings. He will be Man of the Match.

Thank God, an intelligent referee who knows how to apply the rules of the game! he gets it 95% of the time right and I am glad he has been given the job for tomorrow.
