Scara to be buried tomorrow

Posted: 2010-05-17 12:20

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Emmanuel 'Scara' Ngobese will be laid to his final resting place tomorrow in Germiston.

Ngobese passed away last week Tuesday after a long battle with TB.

According to Scara’s brother Thabani, the funeral service will start at 09h00 at the Life Changing World Bible Church in Katlehong before proceeding to Southpark Cemetery, Germiston, at 11h00, where the 29 year old midfielder will be buried.

Meanwhile Kaizer Chiefs staunch supporter Machaka Masilo has urged soccer supporters to come in big numbers to pay their last respects to the former Amakhosi midfielder.

"Scara did not only play for Chiefs or AmaZulu but also Bafana Bafana so I am urging football supporters from different teams to come in big numbers clad in their respective replicas to say goodbye to our favourite player."

Farewell Black Jesus, you will always be remembered. Theres no other player who can make a step-over while going backwards like you did. I still remember you during your days of Moroka Swallows where you played with the likes of General Ningisa & Jakhonia "The Bull" Cibi. Lala ngo xolo mfowethu.

I am busy submiting the leave form at my workplace so that I can be there to pay my last respect to one of the greatest football player to ever come from eKasi lami, eSpruit. You were even better eBhuqwini mfanakuthi, people of SA saw only half Scara but eKasi we saw the full Scara. What are the off season games without Scara eKathorus (Katlehong, Thokoza and Vosloorus? You have left a legacy mfethu, I used to drop everything just to go and watch this young man eBhotsotso groun and even other PSL players used to come from different townships to witness the real diski from uManyeu and they would enjoy like they don't know a thing about football. He was a true soccer lover,a crowd puller, they would other townships like Mambisa, Devyton, Soweto, Alex would ask Scara to be there so that people will come in numbers. He had immense talent that even schools at Katlehong were fighting for Scara go and attend their schools (Fumana HS and Ntombizodwa HS). He was a true celebrity eKasi.......we will miss him. My his soul rest in peace!!!!
