Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira is positive his team will put in a good performance on Thursday.

Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira remained confident this morning that his team would put in a good performance in their crunch 2008 Africa Cup of Nations encounter against Senegal on Thursday.

The South Africans take on the Lions of Teranga in a must-win Group D clash at the impressive Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Bafana have collected only a single point in their two previous matches following a 1-1 draw with Angola in their opening game and a disappointing 3-1 loss to Tunisia, where they showed they still have a long way to go before they can reclaim a spot amongst the continent’s elite.

Despite a much-improved performance in the second half, it was the shambolic defending in the first half that was punished ruthlessly by the Tunisians.

Speaking to the media following a grueling training session on Wednesday, the Brazilian says he fully believes his side has a chance of getting maximum points against Senegal.

The South Africans now need Tunisia to defeat Angola and must beat Senegal by two clear goals to have any chance of progressing to the quarterfinals.

“We were, of course, disappointed following the loss to Tunisia on Sunday,” he said. “The players were not happy and we know now that our fate is not in our own hands. But it is important that we win this game. It is not just about qualifying for the next round, but also leaving a good impression on the tournament – that will be very important for the team's confidence. We need to go out and do our job, which is to win the game.”

And Parreira has reiterated his mandate to build a competitive side by the time the 2010 World Cup is played on home soil. He says the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations is one piece of the puzzle in building a competitive team.

“The mission to build a squad is continuing and I have always said that this tournament will be used as a bridge for the 2010 World Cup. The team has shown signs of improvement as compared to the one that competed in the same tournament two years ago in Egypt. We brought young players – some of them with only two caps and some have not even played a single game for the national team. Signs are good and I am still confident that by 2010 we will have a solid group of players.”

Meanwhile, the coach is expected to make changes to the starting line-up for Senegal. Captain Aaron Mokoena might replace Nasief Morris at the back, with Kagiso Dikgacoi playing the holding role in the midfield. It does look like Terror Fanteni will keep his starting place alongside Sibusiso Zuma upfront.

It is unclear whether Tsepo Masilela will be fit after complaining of a slight injury. If he sits out, Brett Evans will take his place at left-back.

The coach will be happy that midfielder Teko Modise managed to finish today’s training session without showing any signs of discomfort after watching his teammates sweating it out yesterday.

Carlos, i think the money you getting is affecting your brain. This team or the team for 2010 is no good. South African soccer has died due to imcomptent administrators.

Russell: 2008-01-30 14:42

i think perreira should partner Fanteni and Mphela and zuma should be on the bench..lets face it, Zuma is over the hill. He is still in the "shoe shine" era! Morris should also keep his place bcoz of his experince. Mistakes are common.

Makho: 2008-01-30 14:44

hehehe -thanks Faizal - the guy is not gud for BAFANA... i think i could do a better job than him. but i hope our boys do well... which is 99%.

Adam: 2008-01-30 14:44

Please respect our Coach. He has been around for over 40 as a Professinal. I dont even think the money worth his experience and achievents in football.

Thabo: 2008-01-30 14:55

You say Zuma is over the hill, I think parriera is also over the hill. He is using safa to make money for retirement He is playing players out of position. He is playing MR Benson 'SLOW' Mhlongo in central defends, He has lost the plot. Give Walaza a chance against Senengal.(Mphela and Fanteni have been given show many chances
Fanteni=0 goals
Mphela=1 goal
Not good enough

Vusi: 2008-01-30 14:55

You have put in a good fight and our biys have played their hearts out. Its just that we were no match for Tunisia. I'm sure 2moro we will register our 1st ever win against Senegal.

The tournmament is not won in the field only and I'm sure Brazil can bear testimony for the 1998 world cup group stages. And Nigeria got that little bit of luck. Dont worry Bafana Bafana just go out there and unleash your potential and make us proud. Even if you dont qualify for the knockout stages we will be in the airport singing praises for the good showing . unlike our previous showing in Egypt 2 years ago. GO BAFANA BAFANA GO

Puskado: 2008-01-30 14:56

The whole thing is simple we need players which want to be recognised like Excellent Walaza. I believe Carlos selected him because of his outstading perfomance.I uderstand experience count for players but it is also demolising the moral of our youngsters if they are taking to World Cup or Afcon and they did not 1 cap..... Just like Jabu Mahlangu in a world cup

Makho: 2008-01-30 14:58

the guy won the world cup in 1994 - so? he is not a master... has he won anything big after that? nope... we want to win the nations cup (2010) cos this year we r out...

Jeffrey: 2008-01-30 14:59

Carlos should stop this thing of building for 2010. Young players are on the bench, how would they get exposure and experience? It is only modise who I believe would be ready come 2010. The likes of Mhlongo, Zuma would be finished by 2010. AFCON is a big tournament and the coach should be serious in selecting the squad. The main mandate is to win the tournament and not to build the team. A team is build in a training camp and through friendly games.

Puskado: 2008-01-30 14:59

No Vusi I see you don't undersatnd soccer Baba. How can you say they have played their hearts out while they failed to win? And now you want us to believe they will win tomorrow's game against the Lions. I just hope they win but we won't be lucky like Nigeria

Sam: 2008-01-30 15:01

Let's not be naive in thinking that the coach of Carlos's calibre would have come coach a team of our ability @ a minimum wage when he could've gone anywhere in the world, I don't think money is the only motivation for the "Bafana" coach (waiting 4 the new team name from the President)but building something out of "nothing", ha! ha! ha!. There's still nothing after 15 coaches in 15 years. "There more things change the more they stay the same".

Puskado: 2008-01-30 15:02

No Vusi I see you don't undersatnd soccer Baba. How can you say they have played their hearts out while they failed to win? And now you want us to believe they will win tomorrow's game against the Lions. I just hope they win but we won't be lucky like Nigeria

Adam: 2008-01-30 15:06

Nigeria was not lucky they won convincingly. They are the one who worked hard. We still have another AFCOn in 2008 and BB mus really start working hard to biuld avery strong team. I think Teko will not be the same. What if Teko will be in Europe and warming the BENCH. Who knew that Vilakazi & Nomvete wont make it to 2008 AFCON while he was hot in 2006.

Mooketsi: 2008-01-30 15:07

i never supported the apointment of carlos!! the man failed to win the world cup with the likes of ronaldino in the field...y because his tactics were messed up! but i have to say he has improved bafana a lot. the team can pass the ball.now we need to just find quality playas and mold a coach that will take over after he leaves or we fire him...because Pitso Mosimane is a NO NO! maybe khabo zondo! Carlos is doin a reasonable job but he should stop makin excuses and just we are not good enough or the tactics were wring then we can live with tht...! its like that idiot Ted Dumitru when we came back from AFCON without a goal!! tht guy...but im sure he had good intentions but he was a big dreamer...football in africa has improved so much..too many nation have playas in the big leagues...we only have them in ABSA psl and denmark!!

Makho: 2008-01-30 15:08

Carlos Alberto Parreira sucks!!

Cazi: 2008-01-30 15:11

Ja, I m tired of Parreira saying he is building a team for 2010. i think this is just an excuse. We all know that almost 90% of these players will not make it in 2010 and again SA is one of those top and respected contries in Africa, so our players are professional and know exactly what is expected from them. The kind of preasure they get from national team is the same as at their respective teams. i don't think they need development they are pros. Parreira must just accept that he have FAILED in SA. and remember that the guy only succeeded in Brazil.

Makho: 2008-01-30 15:18

i even ask people if they'll be checkin' the game on THU - many people told me they wont waste their time. Carlos Alberto Parreira must GO and build Brazil for "2010"... we dont need this...

Makho: 2008-01-30 15:22

if we dont make it 2moro - Carlos must not get paid. its like at work... if u dont work... u dont get paid. r we payin' him for ths?

that money rather go to charity

Adam: 2008-01-30 15:26

Hahahahahahahaha Makho, Please dont be controlled by emotions. You cant win all.

Thabo: 2008-01-30 15:29

we need to be patient with bafana and give Perreira a chance to build a squard 4 2010. for example rugby, it took Jack White 4 years to build Amabokoko and they brought us the WC

Tbos

Phathutshedzo: 2008-01-30 15:32

Half a bread is better than no bread, what more do you expect from Bafana? They improved from last AFCON's disapointment and I hope that with Parrera as our coach, we are still going to have a lot to cheer, starting by beating Senegal(though I am optimistic that we will qualify to the next stage because of the results between Angola & Tunis)

Faizal: 2008-01-30 15:34

What is Carlos building, Zuma is over the hill Modise only good enough for PSL. The players cannot do the basics like score a goal or defend. Too much money for PSL bosses SAFA and Calrlos, no money in proper development and fixing player bad habits. Too many crooks in SA soccer

Keletso: 2008-01-30 15:35

i trully agree with our coach that we need to be possitive and win against senegal.
lets go there and show africa that Bafanas are there to win....

Phathutshedzo: 2008-01-30 15:36

Tbos, you are 100% correct. Parreira is the best coach ever coached Bafana, I mean how do we expect Bafana to perfom well while the so called big teams in Mzansi(Chiefs & Pirates) they are afraid to compete in champs cup. Egypt & Tunis they do well because their home teams also do well in champs league.

Makho: 2008-01-30 15:37

Thabo - sa rugby had players... what was needed was a new "tactic"... & dont fool urself we didnt play the big guns: New Zealand & Australia...

sokka we dont have players...
we struggling even to beat local teams in warm-up games... phansi ngoCarlos phansi!

Mncedisi: 2008-01-30 15:37

I really like this column...I belive if Pareira or SAFA may check out they may learn 1thing or 2...We have overated Pareira too much and we forgot that the most succesful coach in South Africa soccer are those that have no records...Tell me...before Barker coach bafana...what was his achievments...Jomo too nothing...but the squard he had in Japa/Korea had what it takes to beat the world...let alone the fact that he let us down by leaving Vonk on the bench cause I still belive we lost inbetween the pole...so away about Pareira winning the world Cup...(If u see someone at OR tambo Airport carrying a present of a Visa to Brazil...for Pareira that would be me...)

Mooketsi: 2008-01-30 15:38

lets just give him and chance then go find playas...! its not him we dont have quality. when you playin at international level you have defenders always running behind strikers to make up some ground and prevent a goal..but thts wht our defenders are doin! no strikers is allowed to turn and face the box when u play at this level or at least it should be difficult to do so...but with us they just do whteva! u know why playas like messi, kaka, ronaldo are regarded as the best..its because they can turn the most organised defence inside out..so if we are going to face these guys in 2010 and we are not organised and tough...hehehe we are in trouble! im sure we are sophisticated enough to know tht lack of organization spells doom!

Makho: 2008-01-30 15:42

Faizal - me and u should apply for the Bafana post...

Keletso - uyagula

Adam i'm just tired of of Carlos words... his famous words......

Mbuso: 2008-01-30 15:55

The coach deserves a lot of respect guys, we know Bafana Bafana were just a bunch of players with no direction. At least now we can say he have done something, this needs a lot of commitment, support and passion from all angles of the football fratenity. The guy knows what he is doing don't mind the money he is being paid because none of us can get anyway if it was to be taken away from him. Thank you Mbuso Dludlu

Mpho: 2008-01-30 15:58

Guys, u all miss the point how can you expect Pareira to win while you don't have material. for exemple Katongo became leading goalscorer even though left halfway you league can even finish.Makho as coach ag man!!!!!!!

Makho: 2008-01-30 16:00

Mbuso - Vinyl’s and sokka maybe both round – but they don’t give u the same musik… so we not given Carlos any chance – the dude sucks! Case closed!

Faizal: 2008-01-30 16:00

Makho, yes we can do the job, but we must teach over grown/over age players the basics. Last season in the PSL a playwer was top goal scorer and he only played half the season. It is simple you cannot put the ball in the net you cannot win, no matter how many shibobos you do on the filed. Soccer is about scoring goals. Coaches can only fix that problem by letting players just shoot, shoot and shoot at the goals. Get the body position right, over the ball not leaning backwards like they all do that is why the ball lands up in the stand.

Makho: 2008-01-30 16:01

thanks mpho - u should tell DJ Mbuso that

kay: 2008-01-30 16:04

WA BONA THIS COACH IS SICK.ITS EITHER DEVELOPMENT OR WORLD CUP PREPARATION. I WILL BE DEAD BY THEN.I NEED A WIN NOW.. ALL THOSE WHITE FOLKS WHO COACHED BAFANA, QUIROZ,BAXTER AND THE LIKES.WERE BETTER. THEY NEVA HAD SUCH AN EXCUSE AND THEY NEVER HAD SUCH A LUXUXY OF SUPPORT FROM SAFA AND FINANCE. BUT THEY WERE BETTER. NOT GOOD BUT BETTER.CLIVE WILL ONLY BE THE ONE WHO WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS ALONG WITH HIS PLAYERS.OUT

Makho: 2008-01-30 16:05

Faizal true my brotha - to coach Bafana u just need a UEFA coaching "skills" paper level 10... even level 1 will do now... cos u gonna start with the basics...

pass
trap
control
shoot

Mooketsi: 2008-01-30 16:08

imagine katongo going away half a season with 15 goals then come back and win top goal scorer! then u have mushin and them talkin about we are headin for good times!! wht????

Haile: 2008-01-30 16:11

If we think firing coaches without showing patience is the solution then we are far from understanding our situation. If you look at the amount of time it took Ivory Coast to mould the current team, which was made of kids, then you will see what Carlos is trying to achieve. Tell me of South African players that you think can do any better. The silence would be so loud. Think McCain emotional people!

Makho: 2008-01-30 16:15

Al "Haile" Mohammed - U think carlos deserve to be paid 1 millon a month – while our young brothers & sistas go hungry at the streets? rather that money go to somethin' gud....

Why Barker wasn’t even paid R200 000 to coach Bafana. So Mohammed keep quiet… u don’t know anything abt sokka…

Charlie: 2008-01-30 16:19

While it is my obligation to be patriotic, I also feel it is my wisdom to be realistic. Bafana will be home to spend the weekend with their families and girlfriends. Home sweet home.

Haile: 2008-01-30 16:19

bona wena mahomad...we have been building since 1996!! wht do we have to show? or is tht we are building the wrong playas? ivory coast was bulding the likes of toure, drogba, zokora not freakin mohlongo, moriri..wht are you tryin to say..?

Mooketsi: 2008-01-30 16:21

makho u are a character!

zotsho: 2008-01-30 16:22

MPHO AND HAILE i am so with you chaps, u can never expect our team to go to the afcon and give better perfomance while our own players who play in the psl are underperfoming when we play in african champ's leauge againsts other african teams, the rest of them except a few are bench wamers in europe. TO MAKE A SIMPLE EXAMPLE (KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE NENGOMASHE(ZIM) SUNDOWNS HAVE NYANDORO(ZIM)PIRATES HAD PREVIOUSY OKONKO AND CHANSA(NIG,ZAM) now just looking at those position that is where the strenght of a team is determined, upfront who out of our own south african players has won the top leading goalscorer in the past 4-5 years. Now guys PARREIRA wont perfom miracle, afcon is a different ball game it needs strong players both fit mentally and physical and STOP MAKING UNFAIR COMMENTS IF U DON'T KNOW WHAT U TALKING ABOUT.

zotsho: 2008-01-30 16:26

The bottom line is we don't have material in South Africa, (don't get me wrong) IF WE DO they are busy playing their future e.g Old John (u don't do stupid things when u have moved so high is your career bcz if he was still in england he would have gain a lot of experience bcz we need a difender like him) JABU PULE MAHALNGU WHOEVER HIS SURNAME IS(drinking has never taken anyone anywhere)Sapula is a material but he was underated for a long time hence aged up but he would have done better, vilakazi would have played a gud role otherwise we don't have a team.

Mooketsi: 2008-01-30 16:26

eish zontsho..u are missing the point..i aggree tht we should give the coach a chance and i agree tht we dont have playas. all we tryin to do here is highlight the facts because we keep hearing the same story over and over again! WE ARE BUILDING!! if u are not tired of tht then u r a moron!!

Makho: 2008-01-30 16:29

Mooketsi - thanks

Makho: 2008-01-30 16:31

Mooketsi - hehehe tell Mohammed - this is not the desert of Sudan. PEOPLE WE NEED PLAYERS

zotsho: 2008-01-30 16:33

if we are building moeketsi then u guys must not complain then, its part of the building process, u cant win everything if u building,NEVER we been building since egypt 1998 up to date (10 yrs ) down the line. In that case come South Africans lets all build forever, but ONE THING I KNOW YOU CANT EXPECT TO BUILD A RONDAVEL IN SANDTON OR CAmps BAY IN CAPE TOWN, bcz u cant afford the plot there.

zotsho: 2008-01-30 16:35

if we all tired of hearing the term building what do u guyz want to happen?

Mooketsi: 2008-01-30 16:38

zotsho south africa has the biggest economy in africa, the richest league in africa, the best medical and sports facilities in africa. we have high perfomance centres of the highest order in africa!! and we build a wining team in 10 years? wht are you sayin?? my friend u build and at the same time u win!! and if u loose tell us the truth...like the playas are not up to scratch or the tactics were wrong dont tell us u are building...this is a national team not "Two for Joy" he bathong!!! GO THAAAAAAATA BANNNA! focus my friend focus!

zotsho: 2008-01-30 16:45

moeketsi we are on the same page if u understand what i wrote i am also againsts the term builiding but i thought u were diffending it, all i mean is that we were builiding to fail bcz we don't look after our players like the other countries do and prtect them from using abusive and excessive drugs instead we want to see them growing all by themselves and become gud players. U are write we have everything on our disposal but what are we doing with it? my only solution is that WE NEED PEOPLE WITH BRAIN IN THOSE SAFA OFFICES, LIKE THE REST OF YOU GUYS WHO COMMENT HERE ON KICK OFF, BCZ AT TIMES YOUR COMMENTS ARE VERY REASONABLE.

Cheners: 2008-01-30 16:51

There are positive sign in this Bafana squad, other could have been done better, but everyone of us learn from the mistakes we done b4. We need to give support to Carlos and the team, yes SAFA has screwed up with most decisions they have made, but that is not new. We need to get behind Bafana, that's our patriotic stand.Teko is maturing, schilo good, bryce moon and Tsepo are great prospects, Elrio deserves to there, Fanteni as well. We should have had Benni. But overall we will gel.

My suggestion to kickoff is that may be it would be a good idea to engage SAFA,PSL and Mvela to avail themselves on a platform like this to hear what people say and feel

Mooketsi: 2008-01-30 16:57

thanks zontsho..well i believe my comment are always spot on..! maybe our playas dont understand wht proffession means! if you are a proffesional, particularly in footbal it means u spend less time drinkin, smoking, chillin, and start being a humble responsible human being..? y? because all of these things will affect your game..or maybe they affect the way the coach thinks of you then he will loose interst in u and then u become frustrated and loose interest in the game. Y is tht when a playa like jabu pule or skapie earn a few thousands rands think the world of themselves and then not respect wht gave them tht money? Our playas need to respect the game and know what it means to be in that field, I so wish i was a football playa or should i say a proffesional football playa..and im sure there is a lot of us out there who feel the same! i sleep soccer, i eat soccer, i love soccer..and it breaks my heart to see us loosing like this, and when u think of the raw talent that we have..u feel like jumpin infront of a moving train!! the likes of mabizela, thando mgomeni, sipho nunes all have thrown their career out the window!! in brazil football is worshiped...and a playa is never good enough untill he wins the FIFA player of the year or the europian playa of the year...our playas just want to shine in our location..shine to people that dont have nothin!! people tht love and adore them!! wht kind of crap is tht!???

magqetyuwa: 2008-01-30 16:59

The biggest problem we have is that we judge Parreira by what he achieved in 1994. We seem to forget that he did absolutely fokol in other subsequent World Cup tournament. He failed spectacularly with a squad teeming with Stars during the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Parreira is a has-been, period.

Makwa: 2008-01-30 20:09

I must say a while a ago I thought this was a good idea to write comments here and share it with other people. I mean the important people also get feedbacks thru this, I am not so sure anymore. You, it is very easy to say a critic and it is not that I am saying one shouldn't voice their critic but please they must be objective. And not just stupid things.Of course we can all be coaches but we are not, i guess we could even fly if we didn't think about death first. The fact is, Carlos has done not such a bad job, the fact that we are now starting to see clearly where we are lacking it means there has been work which has been done. Then where we were 2 years ago. When all the department in the squad were just hmmmm...bafana lost but at least the spirit is somehow there. That is the most important thing, now we( Mr know alls) shouldn't break that because it is not easy to build in a team.So all the credit to mr Carlos and his technical team.

thebe: 2008-01-30 21:53

Parreira remains positive that afetr the nations cup and a few months he will resignh as he wud have made more money for his retirement...and sorry southafricans not this tym and twenty ten but may be after a century when the new doctor kumalo, masinga, fish, radebe, zane, bartlet, shoes, andrense, nyathi, sizwe, nyathi etc are born thats when things will turn arround to your dreams.gone are the days when we used to be sure who will be in the starting 11,with few of the so called building for 2010 youngstars who are usessless and not continental competitors.the current foreign coaches are killing the chances of southafrica by using these young guys only.under coaches long back i am sure i used to see quinton fortune and benni with a crop of experienced players.it was rare to find zuma, nomvetee, matsau, fabian, ntheko, steve lekoelea, fortune, pule, booth, kannemeeyer etc the olimpic team used without anyone experienced like what we are seing now.if someone wanted to build for 2010 that wud have been the team kept and developement being done on it.and can someone prove me wrong here when chiefs and pirates and mamelodi sundawana are not on form and their players are not on form the national team is not progressing at all because big teams arent doing anything.

letza: 2008-01-30 22:11

the coach is doing a great job by taking the captain back to the defense but replacing morris is not a good Idea, Mhlongo should be replaced not morris. Zuma should be played wide and Walaza with Fanteni upfront because of that good understanding between Teko and Walaza, we need maximum points for this game and goals otherwise Carlos is a good coach.

Botswana: 2008-01-30 22:22

South africa's problems
1.politics-too many know-how,in that sense u lack respect for ue heroes, take Benni, world star and u think u can do better without him,be it he scores or supports,im oversees i dont hear much more profesional overseas based players because 99% of the local produce is fit to play sunday soccer.Im not kidding ya dig?
2.tactic-times are gone when u play street diski because every nation has improved tactically,so switch ur style up.The play today is not shoe-shining,its pace, power, concentration.Techinique is wat u lack most!Say u win the ball halfway in ur own half, the team shud have practiced exactly how to turn that into a goal ie creating chances.

Im not sayin south africa shud deal away with its diski-style,it kills the pace,so it must be done in pace, not too many touches before an attack sign is emminent, football is attack, period

Rapholo: 2008-01-31 00:40

SA national team(Bafana bafana) has too many coaches, some are our media personnel, and some are our fellow SA citizens and also our local team’s coaches (all of them mentioned are very quick to criticize, give instructions, not suggestions, instructions to the SA appointed professional coaches (previous and present). Carlos played two strikers, played Fanteni with Zuma, as our so-called coaches instructed/suggested in the newspapers, and what happened; we lost the game in the first half, thanks to our self-appointed SA team coaches. Good people being pessimistic will not do us good, stay positive, support our team, stop these unnecessary, unrecognized self-appointments to positions (SA team coaches) that you are not officially appointed for. Be what you are supposed to be, supporters of our SA national team, in defeat or victory. Leave the know-how to the professionals.

If you check the history of BB
1996- We won AFC
1998- we came second place
2000- third place
2002- quarter final
2004- nock out
2006- group stage
2008- may be group stage again
So are we building or what?

1996- We won AFC
1998- we came second place
2000- third place
2002- quarter final
2004- nock out
2006- group stage
2008- may be group stage again
So are we building or what?

Hey People of the Universe, If we wnt this cooutry to win the 2010 World Cup, lets allow the coach do his job of coaching, he only needs our support not comments or suggestions on how to coach or select the team. E.g. U are employed in your company to do the job, what will be your reactions when someone you dont even know comes in and tell you that you need to do XYZ? Carlos does'nt know you guys. Please just sit and watch, if you dont want to support the team then leave then those who want to support the team will do so just like me. Stop your stupid criticism on the coach - some of you dont know how to play soccer. They didnt want the situation to be like that in Ghana, they wanted to win all game like other teams (in this Game called Soccer one of the three things happen in each game (You win /loose/draw). Take it that way

I must agree with Russel ,Zuma is not just over the hill ,there is also nothing on his brain and he just run non stop ,Lets rather try Fanteni and Walaza becaz i was never a Mpela's fan .I am pleading the coach to try Lance Davids to cover up for Brice Moon when he makes those runs becaz he has speed and power ,Kagiso is good but i am just doubting the pace he posses ,and give Van Herden a start for this game ,g

blame SAFA - the last three coaches advised that we needed a national youth league to develop young players. we are still waiting.

Bafana was dead and buried for the past two years. Now they have been raised from the ashes slowly they will get there. Lets be realistic, no coach in the world could not have turned them into world beaters in a year with handful of games and training camps. As for the pay its on par with world standards. Football is a high paying business. If we wanted a world class coach then we need to pay a world class salary.
