Smith wants to leave United

Maritzburg United striker Norman Smith has asked management to put him on transfer to allow him to find a new team for next season.

Smith spent the last few months with Jomo Cosmos after being released by United to Ezenkosi on a 6 month loan deal. Now with his loan deal up, the Kimberly born striker is looking to start a new life outside Pietermaritzburg.

His contract with United only falls due in June 2012.

The 28 year-old striker's manager Machini Motloung confirms that Smith was no longer interested in going back to Maritzburg United.

"He says that he is no longer interested to play for Maritzburg United.

"We have spoken to the club management about his request to leave and will see what happens next," says Motloung.
