Emmanuel 'Scara' Ngobese loses TB battle

Posted: 11 May 2010 Time: 19:16

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Emmanuel Ngobese is dead.

‘Scara’, as he was known to his hoardes of fans, passed away this morning after a long battle with TB.

Ngobese’s brother, Thabani, confirmed on Metro FM the passing of the former Moroka Swallows, AmaZulu and Thanda Royal Zulu midfielder.

Richard Makhoba, manager of United FC where Scara was last in action, said his club was saddened by Ngobese’s death.

“We are saddened about the news of Scara passing away. This is a great loss to South Africa football and we will miss his immense talent. We wish to pass our condolences to his family during this dark hour.”

KICK OFF would also like to pass on our condolences in honour of a player who graced the cover of our magazine on many occasions. May his soul rest in peace.

Mr Fakude, I know this is English but as an African we use a more polite way of saying someone has passed on. eg "Soccer-Laduma Extend Condolences To Ngobese Family" - by SL, that's more polite than 'Scare Ngobese dies', shoo... Anyway, he will be remembered as one of the most skillful pair of legs on the ball. He really entertained us, Rest in peace Scara
