Free State Stars are aiming to emulate their success of 1994 when they won the Coca-Cola Cup.
Ea Lla Koto qualified for the Nedbank Cup semi-final yesterday after beating Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-0 at Charles Mopeli Stadium and now, after a season in which they were forced to fight against relegation, are hoping to bring the trophy back to Bethlehem.
Speaking to KickOff.com, Stars captain Duncan Lechesa says they owe their fans something to restore their pride.
"It's a great feeling to see the club at this stage where we are enjoying great football. The players and the technical team have worked hard to get the team where it is at the moment.
"Obviously we are dreaming of winning the Cup but there are still the semi-final to be played. All the teams that qualified for the semi-finals have proved to be strong so there is no chance to pick a club thinking you will get a walk in the park.
"We owe a lot to our supporters and winning the Nedbank Cup is certainly going to give us an opportunity to make them proud."
The three other that have qualified for the semifinals are AmaZulu, BidVest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns.
