Former AmaZulu goalie Shadreck Biemba loses battle with cancer

Posted: 9 May 2010 Time: 15:51

Former AmaZulu goalkeeper Shadreck Biemba has died after a battle with cancer.

The Zambian had been working as goalkeeper coach at Moroka Swallows before his passing.

In statement released on the club website, the Dube Birds paid tribute to Biemba for his contribution to the game.

“The highly-skilled former Zambian national soccer team goalkeeper was always on top of his game, knowing what to do and when to do it. Through his work and dedication, any of the Birds' goalkeepers are worthy of a place in the goal.

“Shadreck was a highly-valued member of the Swallows team, who always had a smile and a friendly word for everyone. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.”

Big Tree! You were a great goalkeeper, a great friend, a great husband, father and man. Everyone who ever met you feels this loss. You now join Julius, Joe, Special, Junior, Dumisani, and Francis - all former team-mates who have left us.
Hebe!

Rest in Peace Mr. Biemba!!! We will dearly miss you in the game and always refresh our memories for your outstanding perfomance in the 1992 inaugural Coca-Cola cup final against Kaizer Chiefs. The score of 3 - 1 is still a hard pill to swallow to most of the moffies for Kaizer Chiefs.
