SuperSport ready to tackle Heartland

Posted: 2010-05-07 10:24

SuperSport United midfielder Anthony Laffor concedes that his team faces a mammoth task in overcoming Heartland FC in the CAF Champions League this weekend.

United travel to Nigeria to face Heartland in the return match after both sides played to a 1-1 draw in the first leg played at home a fortnight ago.

The scoreline favours the Nigerians based on their away goal, but Matsatsantsa are determined to defy the odds and return from Lagos with a victory.

Speaking to KickOff.com ahead of their departure to Nigeria today, Laffor said their only worry was forces outside the field of play.

"This is going to be one of the toughest games we have played this season. We missed the opportunity to win the game here at home and now we have a big mountain to climb in their backyard. However, this is no time to moan but rather look forward to the battle ahead.

"We are ready a hostile reception ahead and any other factors that will attempt to take our focus from the game but we are ready both physically and mentally for anything.

The game between SuperSport and Heartland FC is set for the Dan Anyiam Owerri Stadium and kicks off at 16h00.

SuperSport will travel to Lagos without the services of defender Bongane Khumalo who is currently in Bafana Bafana camp and Morgan Gould who is still nursing an injury.

@Kwesu, just get a life for yourself. SSU couldn't beat Heartland during the first leg in South Africa and now you think that they will be able to do it in Nigeria? You are certainly wet-dreaming. I bet you that SSU will not be able to score any goal even if there were no goalkeaper at the Heartland goal post. Mark my words, the match will end 3-0 in favour of heartland.
