Kaizer Chiefs' Dominic Isaacs on future
'Happy' Isaacs looks to the future

Kaizer Chiefs defender Dominic Isaacs says his Telkom KnockOut Cup individual recognition as Defender of the Tournament will serve as a motivation for him to keep on his toes rather than relax in a comfort zone.
Isaacs has endured a difficult spell at Naturena, having spent the greater part of last season sidelined by injury, and has only been trying to establish himself at Chiefs this year following the injury to Thomas Sweswe.
With the season officially over for Chiefs and with his first ever personal award in the professional ranks, Isaacs remains as cool as he has always been.
"I am happy with the way I have played so far but for me there is always room for improvement. So I will not sit back and think I have achieved when I have actually done nothing. I just need to keep on working harder," he tells KickOff.com with a fat cheque of R100 000 for being the Best Defender already making its way into his account.
He admits to being shocked at winning this award.
"I didn't expect this award to come because my goal was put something in the trophy cabinet at Chiefs. This is a big bonus because my priority was in achieving with the team.
"For me to be honest it will only touch me maybe in a month or two's time that I have actually won this award. All I want and have always wanted to do is to make my parents proud of me because of what they have done for me.
"My parents are the ones that have been there for me through sunshine and rainy days so I have to attribute every moment of my life to them.
"It is because of my parents that I am here today. I can call my parents at any time of the day or night and we talk whenever there is anything that I need to take out," he says.
But Isaacs hasn't had it easy in his time at Chiefs since making the move that was part of the exchange deal with Mabhuti Khenyeza going the opposite direction at the beginning of last season.
"It was frustrating when I arrived here at Chiefs and wasn't playing because of injury, but I had to accept that this is all part of football. I was very frustrated because I didn't come here to Jo'burg all the way from Cape Town to be sitting and watching the team. Eventually through hard work and patience it paid off.
"I am happy now to be playing. When I start playing I never think of anything else besides doing the job on the field for the club by playing well. Things like injuries, if it happens it will have happened. If it doesn't happen it is all good for me," says the Cape Town born defender.
