Tawana promise entertaining match

High-riding Second Division side Als Puk Tawana have promised local fans good football when they play Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 game at Orlando Stadium in Soweto this weekend.

Tawana caused a major upset in the tournament when they booted PSL team Platinum Stars out of the competition.

The North West-based side is now gearing up to continue with their giant killing spree when they visit Pirates on Saturday.

Club coach Zipho Dlangalala, who is being assisted by Mamelodi Sundowns' veteran mentor Ted Dumitru, tells KickOff.com that even though they want to beat the Mighty Buccaneers, their intention at the Orlando Stadium is to dish exciting football for the local fans.

"Our preparations for the game against Pirates have been going well and we are now ready for them. As much as the reason of playing the game is to win, our main mission on Saturday is to dish out football that fans will enjoy.

"We are not only looking at the result against Pirates but to the future. It will be exciting experience for our youngsters, especially as there is likely to be a large crowd at Orlando Stadium."

Young Jabulani Shongwe has already been tipped as player to cause havoc in Bucs' defence, but Dlangalala warns the Ruud Krol-led side to beware all his 11 men on the field.

"He (Shongwe) is brilliant player but the game against Pirates is not only about him, but the whole team. We have a number of exciting prospects for fans to see this weekend."

Tawana will lose this game very badly. Pirates doesn't play with kids. We will show chiefs how it is done since they are also our babies. The score will be five goals or more-nil to Pirates.

Bucs in black,red and white.

This Als Puk team would stand a chance of beating Pirates if they had not played another PSL team before. Now that Pirates know about them, they will not just loose but will loose by a wide magin. It is the same with all the other 'small' teams that have beaten PSL teams. They won't beat another PSL team.

I watch these Tawana players losing to JSS under 19 school. JSS school is dominated by Pirates under 19 players, (+/- 10 Pirates U19 paleyers). these Tawana boys are just over rated, I mean Platinum stars is not a best team that we should be shovked when they loss to a Vodacom league team. This team is not even doing well in their league, the last time I checked, they were at the bottom of the Vodacom league and I am not sure if they are not religated to CASTLE League.

Barring in mind that this Tawana has been loosing by a margin of 8 - 9 goals to Platinum start during their friendly matches.

lastly, these are not young boys. it's the African sickness of age cheating, I happen to know most of them as they were chased away by Chiefs and Wits development for this.
