Krol – It is a warning for us

Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol is confident his team can beat ALS Puk Tawana in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, but warns against complacency.
Bucs drew the so-called minnows today at the Melrose Arch in Johannesburg, but this is the same team that beat Platinum Stars 3-2 to advance to the last 16 and Krol knows they can’t be taken lightly.
“You must never undermine your opponents and that is for sure. They knocked out a PSL team and that is a warning for us,” says the Dutchman.
“I think it is a good draw for us and I hope we can go through to the last eight of this competition and take it from there,” Krol says.
Tawana, which is a Vodacom League team, is owned by Mamelodi Sundowns and have installed Ted Dumitru as caretaker coach and the latter has sounded a warning to the Buccaneers.
“The boys are very excited and almost missed their lunch today after hearing about the draw.
“We have youngsters as young as 16 and the oldest about 19 and they have been together for 18 months and the objective was not to win competitions at this stage, revive the culture of attractive football, that can win football matches… they are hungry and ready to face Pirates.
“Believe me Pirates are never going to have an easy game,” says Dumitru.
