VV says there's no pressure

Posted: 2010-04-09 07:57

Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic says he is under no pressure on him to win silverware even though he has yet to taste success in an official competition since arriving at the beginning of the season.

"What I do know is that winning a trophy is a mirror of my work, and being in the Telkom Cup Final is an opportunity to win a Cup; which we want to win but which I am not under any pressure to do.

"We are in good shape at the moment and I have no doubt that my players will do every thing right to win this game. They want this trophy, maybe more than I do," states Vermezovic.

The Serbian mentor adds that he doesn't see Amakhosi's League run as being disappointing.

"I don't know why people are talking about disappointments. The thing is simple, this year SuperSport and Sundowns did better than us in the League and for me it's not a disappointment to be third.

"When you look at our results and consider the way we started the League maybe we didn't deserve to be first. Next year we will see and it all depends on us.

"But like I say, a big club like Kaizer Chiefs needs all the trophies and expectations are always that we must win everything, Cups and the League title included.

"Some of our players don't have experience and without experience sometimes the confidence is not there. For us it is more important to create the opportunities and then the rest will take care of itself," says Vermezovic.

With his usual confidence the Serbian says he had been preparing against the final as far back as Saturday when Ajax confirmed their place to the final; that was two days before Amakhosi had overcome the hurdle of Orlando Pirates.

"I started preparing for the final on Saturday. People don't believe it when I say that every game is important and even every training session is important to me," he adds.

Meanwhile, Chiefs midfield marvel David Mathebula says they have to stop Ajax from making the history of by winning the Telkom KnockOut Cup twice in succession.

The Urban Warriors beat Orlando Pirates in last year's Final.

"Ajax is a very good team technically so we have to be disciplined to win this one. We have to be up to the challenge in all departments to get the better of them.

"It will also not be nice to go through our 40th year anniversary without winning a trophy. We have to do this for the club and our fans," says Mathebula who converted a penalty in the shoot-out win over Bucs on Easter Monday.

To be honest, Ajax is a good team. It's one team that is guaranteed to score at least a goal. They have a brilliant keeper in Vonk, creative player in Lewis, and an aerial finisher in Paulse. But they are playing against a red-hot team of the moment. This young side of Chiefs is super fast in all departments, defence, midfield and up-front. Their only problem is in finishing (goals) which if they have not worked on in training, will make it difficult for them to beat Ajax. But I trust our coach when he says he had long prepared for the final. We are the last hope, we shall prevail.

BrokeFan: 2010-04-09 09:25

Sbuda & wifey
Like the coach said before our clash with Clowns: "This is our time" It's pay back time. We have not forgotten what Ajax and referee Peter Mabuza did to us in MTN8 semi final. That moment still haunts our memories. I won't be surprised when our boys hand Ajax a 6-pack they scared so much. The boys will keep Peter Mabuza's moments in mind when they do the business 2moro.

Siyaz: 2010-04-09 08:28
SuperSport knows its sins very well and shiveringly awaits its punishment. There's nowhere to run. Those who made Smart Choice like us will forever be happy. We shall forever keep blowing that Vuvuzela loudly and proudly.

VV you are a world class coach in the making. I believe that for the players to be confident, the Leader (Coach) must show confidence in their abilities.

You will go places with youe positive attitude.

Just tell Musona to bang two goals before half time.

Tell Nale not to hurry inside the box and just run straight to Ajax defense and keep the ball in his feet, that is strenght and Ajax defenders will be frustrated and bring him down.

Tell Sweswe to man-mark Lewis.

Don't allow any diagonal ***** or crosses to be played in the box. That Ajax tall guy will punish us.

Tell Nengomasha and the two central defenders to avoid any fouls in the dangersous areas.

if Chiefs can stop Ajax from playing their wing play ( The Dutch type of football), then I will smile at 22:00 pm on Saturday

The confidence from our coach and players is what we need. I don't see serious threat from both Lewis and Paulsen. Our defense did very well in the past games against tall players like Rogers and mobile players like Issacs, Mabhuti and Mashego.

As I have realised since the beggining of the week, you have been dragging chiefs to any thing you may think of....please tell for intant

1. Why is it if someone tells you there are 1 billion stars in the
universe, you will believe them but if they tell you a wall has wet
paint you will have to touch it to be sure?

2. And why, just after two weeks we humilated your CIRCUS CLOWN team, that you still dont accept that we won that game and Ajax dont own you any favour

How come you do not understand the meaning of a word in context. For your info. he meant the preasure was on meeting Pirates not Ajax. He is now relaxed after washing Bucs aside. He had no preasure playing Sundowns either for he knew that it was a small matter. How about this explanation Witchdoctor? Does it make sense? If it does not make sense then it will never make sense until after the World Cup hahahaha.

Maestro KC: 2010-04-09 11:28

Let me tell you before you are tjatjarag (excitable, I think) – this is a building of a revolutionary party and you know nothing about the revolution. So here you behave or else you jump. Don’t laugh.
Chief, can you get security to remove this thingy.
If you are not going to behave, we are going to get security to take you out.
This is not a news room this, this is a revolutionary house and you don’t come here with that white tendency, not here. You can do it somewhere else, not here.
If you have got a tendency of undermining blacks even where you work, you are in the wrong place. Here you are in the wrong place.
Journalist: But that’s rubbish
Malema: You can go out…rubbish is what you have covered in that trouser – that is rubbish.
That which you have covered in [your] clothes is rubbish, ok?
You are a small boy you can’t do anything. Go out…*******! Go out! You ****** agent!
We cannot be allowed to be undermined in our own terrain, you can do that in your own offices, but here, once you come in here – this is not a playground, this is Luthuli House. It’s the head quarters of a revolutionary party which has liberated the people of South Africa.
Here you come; you restrain yourself and behave in a manner that is befitting of being in the head quarters of the ANC.
It’s not a beer-hall here, it’s not a drunk beer-hall – cheap beer-hall, this. And you ask anybody including political parties which tried to undermine this house what happened to them.
You can undermine all of us but not the house. Never undermine the house. When you are here, you are in a different terrain. You are in our space and you are going to behave in a manner that is befitting of being in the ANC office.
You don’t howl here especially when we speak and you behave like you are in an American press conference? This is not America, it’s Africa.
You must behave in an African way. If you are in Rome you do as the Romans do.
These things you write about us and insulting us, that is your space [and] you can do as you wish. We don’t have a problem with that and we have accepted that you are abusing that space [and] you are abusing us in that space.
[But] you don’t come and abuse us in our own space, in our own house. This is my house and you will behave according to the rules of my house. We are not forcing anybody to be here. If you feel you are offended by the removal of this gentleman, you are most welcome to walk, you are free to go.
We don’t force anybody to come here. We would be worried if the SABC doesn’t come, but the rest of you to be honest, we really don’t care.
SABC is our own but the rest, it’s ok whether you come or you don’t come. We don’t have a problem.
And if you feel offended in solidarity with this gentleman, like the solidarity of other journalists who connived with a corrupt journalist which was exposed by the Youth League, you are again free to walk. The corridors are open.
Let’s not push each other to a point where we will have to engage each other differently because we are not going to be undermined by young boys and then we say ‘no, we need to restrain ourselves’.
When we are in the BBC studios you can pull us around and say whatever. You do that anyway when we have interviews with you. You just come in when we try to respond and you ask further questions…we never fight with you at that level, that’s your space. But here, my brother, you need to ask the South Africans – if you’re not – what the ANC is and what does the head quarters of the ANC mean to them.
So these are the head quarters of the ANC and we behave accordingly and like I said, if you fell offended, you can walk. There is no problem.
And this is not a threat to media freedom. Media freedom without limitations and journalists just running amok and wanting to undermine us like that – we are human beings.
We are not going to be looted here and harassed by journalists. You can do that to the elders and not to us. We are the youth and we will act in a youthful manner, if you know what it means.
So that is how we will act on anybody that seeks to undermine us.
The ANC is going to revive liberation movements all over Africa.

Still on DR NDIVHUWO

He purchased a new Volkswagon Beetle and was driving back to home very happily. On the way the car broke down. He came out of he car and opened the bonnet, trying to fix up the problem. Immediately began to sweat. He tried to use his bones but nothing worked.

By that time one of his witch assistant came by that way and saw DR NDIVHUWO, totally confused and sweating, trying to search something inside the bonnet, and asked him what was the matter. "The Volkswagon people made me fool. They have given me the Car without the engine. The assistant said "Don't worry. I have spare engine in the back of new Beetle. You can take that."

PS : Beetle's have back mounted engines.

So he went to town to get a new TV set before the game between Chiefs and Ajax starts as he belived from his bones that chiefs will loose and he wanted to see that.
