Wilfred Mugeyi: No six-pack from Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 8 April 2010 Time: 01:28 pm

"We got a six-pack when we played Golden Arrows in the MTN8 Final earlier this season, but that won't happen when we play Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday," was the bold declaration that Ajax Cape Town assistant coach Wilfred Mugeyi made at a press conference earlier today.

Mugeyi was referring to the 6-0 drubbing they received from Arrows in the MTN8 Final played at the Orlando Stadium.

"Arrows played well on the day, their tactics worked well on that occasion. I think Chiefs will look to play in a similar way. But we'll be ready for them. We want to win this trophy for the supporters and whoever is associated with the club," adds Mugeyi.

But Chiefs assistant Donald ‘Ace' Khuse who was also in attendance at the conference said: "We just want to make sure that we reward our supporters. The guys are on a high at the moment, we've been in really good form during the past month or so. Therefore we are fairly confident about our chances."

Khuse did point out that their one area of concern for their camp was goal scoring during regulation time.

The last time the Amakhosi found the back of the net in this competition was when Mandla Masango netted during their 1-0 win against Mamelodi Sundowns in a Last 16 match.

"Playing two games without scoring has become a bit of a worry for us. But we've been working on cooling the minds of the players when they get into the box. I'm sure we'll get it right in the final," added Khuse.

2 nil wil be fine , we dont wan't to be cursed like that game we played with COSMOS yrs ago COCA-COLA CUP FINAL. We won the game with plenty of goals(coming left and right) and then Jomomo went to DR NDIVHUWO, then we played our next 9 games without a win. That was a disaster.

We know Golden Arrows , they've been pathetic and hopeless ever since after they won the final 6-0

Please reward us Ace, we were a laughing stork at the beggining of the season, mocked for buying Zim players, but we remained the Faithful Supporters of our beloved Amokhosi. A trophy on Saturday will be a good reward to us.

Is like Motsetserepa has a title. At least Bra Kaizer and Bra J played soccer before, what about Motsepe? You only know him when he buy ZIMBA-SONS shares with BEE money. He never played a tennis ball in the streets.
