Moroka Swallows put up a disciplined performance to hold on to a 1-1 draw away to Zimbabwe's CAPS United in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

The South Africans drew first blood through chief striker Siyabonga Nomvete in the 45th minute before Nyasha Mushekwi headed the home team level two minutes into added time in the first half.

Swallows coach Rainer Zobel was satisfied with the result. "I am happy with the outcome of this match given that we have a fairly young team. We are looking forward to the second leg," said Zobel after the match.

CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe remained positive despite the defeat. "Swallows played well. They managed to hold us here at home but it's still game on. We just hope that we overcome in the return leg," said Chitembwe.
