Money behind Hristo Stoitchkov clash?

Money behind Stoitchkov clash?

Posted: 2010-03-19 14:17

The Bulgarian media say that Hristo Stoitchkov’s clash with the hierarchy at Mamelodi Sundowns is all about money.

One newspaper says on its website that ‘the Dagger’ as Stoitchov is known is his native land, has received around R9-million since he joined them nine months ago, at the start of the 2009/2010 season.

The newspaper says that officials at the Chloorkop-based club have resented this because they claimed that they did all the training and hard work, while he draws the big money.

The paper makes no mention of the fact that Stoitchkov’s assistants, Antonio Lopez and Miguel Gonzalez, have also been given the bullet.

Earlier reports about Stoitchov’s dismissal indicated that he was not prepared to accept the terms of a new contract offered to him, however suggestions in these reports were that the fiery tempered Bulgarian legend objected to the restrictions on his behaviour and were also performance related.

Hangwanie: 2010-03-19 19:01

Reeze go to the nearest hell, why do you have to be hard on Mash-do. I mean doesnt it make sense to pay 9 million rand for a 10 million league championship? It doesnt get the point or go to school.

Tshep masikane : 2010-03-20 07:00

Sundowns waz wasting alot of money n downs should have hired a local one

Sfiso M: 2010-03-20 08:45

Sundowns is a circus indeed, the 9 million mentioned here was only paid to the coach. The millions paid to the technical team, the players & admin staff is not included. The circus supporters keep on beleiving that he (Motsepe) is not in for money...why do business if you are not in for money? You dont need a degree to figure out that Mr mining magnate is dom finish & klaar.

more ching More ching

lets put this behind

Lolo: 2010-03-21 21:52

Soweto for the past, Tshwane for the future. Its a fact, anyone who wants to bet can email me on bramybra@gmail.com. No soweto Team will win the League in the Next 5 years. Fact! Fact! Yaa they will win cups because they need money more than the Tshwane teams.

bosscry: 2010-03-23 11:17

Its funny and amazing;

Poor, debt trapped and 8-5 low working class who are driving bank-owned yarises and chicoo's like mash-do are saying a man like motsepe whose tithe(10% of his earnings) far exceed the income of their relatives combined is a fool. The man led a company to make 7 billion proceeds in one year, yet you say he is a dom. What do you have! you are the dom yourself because you cant even manage a R100 000.

Aza: 2010-03-23 12:17

the language you guys are spewing is anti soccer. why dont we all focus on the beautiful game. money is not an issue.
E.g. by the time the world cup kicks off on 11 June, how much would SA would have spent in infrustructural development just to prepaer for the 1 month world cup. SA is not gonna win the cup. im not being persimistic but there is no quarantee that SA would recoup all the money spent on preparation. make no mistake, the prestige SA win gain on hosting a successful world cup amid doubting thomasses is unmatched.
