Heartland game moved to Douala

Heartland's CAF Champions League first leg, second round match against Cameroon's Tiko United will now take place at the Douala Reunification Stadium on Saturday.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at the Omnisports Ahmadu Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde where Tiko were held to a 2-2 draw by Vital’O of Burundi before going ahead on penalty shootouts during the first round.

Heartland FC Media Officer, Cajetan Nkwopara said the new venue was communicated to the Nigerians on their arrival in Cameroun on Thursday by the officials of the Cameroun Football Association (FECAFOOT).

"There was no reason given for the change of venue although, the same Reunification Stadium will be holding another Champions league game a day after (Sunday) between Union Douala FC and Entete Setif of Algeria," Nkwopara said.

The match comes up at 15h30.

GUYS PLEASE READ THIS.

Nigeria Football Federation has received notice of litigation from former Super Eagles coach, Shaibu Amodu’s lawyers, summoning The Glasshouse to the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

NFF president, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi’s special adviser, Tunde Aderibigbe said in a chat with brilafm.net that the federation’s contract with Amodu is still intact and insisted that there is no loop hole that can be exploited by the coach’s lawyer.

“It was just a notice and we are responding to it. We have not defaulted in terms of an agreement between employer and client. We are still keeping to our contract.

“Amodu was not sacked. He was only deployed from Super Eagles team A to take charge of team B. Which means he still has his job.

“We have consulted our lawyer and he is already working on our case. Berti Vogts did the same and we argued our case.

“They listened to us before we were acquitted by the arbitration for sports and FIFA. There is nothing to be worried about Amodu taking us to court of arbitration,” Aderibigbe assured.

Amodu, we all understand may not have got the best treatment but he should lie low rather than taking his employers to the court. The NFF have a valid case but playing on sentiments at the CAS won't help you. I feel your grief but all that is past. I pray history will be kind to you but with the court case, things will never be the same anymore btw u and the NFF. You may lose whatever sympathy they have for u.

Bona: 2010-03-19 20:42

@Billion I agreed with you, I hope Amodu will listen to your advise and let it go because he still get a lot to gain from NFF in future.

Heartland go out there and make us proud, I wish you guys the best of luck.

Countdown to 2010: THE SUPPORT OF THE FANS
Last week, we brought to you under God, an inexhaustive ''Super Eagles fan guide to the world cup'' But two things were left untouched, namely 'shibobo' and 'shame'. Shibobo is a football term used among the fans to describe what we used to call 'osi' in Jos, or simply put it this way, 'a term used, when the ball passes between the legs of an opposing player''. The other word 'shame' is an empathy word, used accross board in SA to connote, 'ndo', 'sorry', 'e pele' etc. So do not be surprised if an African team lose a match and the Souti's say, 'SHAME', they mean no offence. It is just a way of expressing empathy.

In USA'94, which to me is the only world cup Nigeria has ever been to (this is because we had a team, and I mean a TEAM). I watched one of the adverts on NTA, then by Diamond Bank of Nigeria (DBN). The wordings of the advert goes like this 'The Support of the fans', 'The Hard Tackles' and 'The Great Goals'. So if Jesus tarries, we hope for the next three weeks give you a 'Ya chisa' kind of ****ysis on these three headings. But today, we will start with THE SUPPORT OF THE FANS.

So for the SE to succeed in SA, the fans should forget about what they have seen about their darling SE. I know what it feels and we all went through the rough times when for two good years, our Eagles only won 3 matches convincingly, albeit against Sierra Leone 4-1, against Kenya 3-0 and Mozambique 3-0. Be that at is may, we all know of how prodigiously gifted our players are. I was speaking to a friend in London after the nations cup and he said, the Eagles missed Ike Uche. Because, he could take on defenders and score goals. Lets not go back to the ANGOLA discussion again. Osaze too is enterprising and Martins(Weapon of mass destruction) can go gaga. Not forgetting Nsofor aka rave of the moment. So we should really rally round our team to make sure they do well at the forthcoming mundial. Thank God Lars is here and the man knows his left from his right tactically even though time is not his friend, but one thing is certain, this man will give us enterprising football and the Argies are in for a run for their money.

Anichebe is coming back to life with his strength and ability to hold onto the ball with confi, not forgetting several all other mercurial midfielders scattered home and abroad. Lars believes in the Nigerian team and that belief in the players can bring out the best out of them. Not in those days that we were living by FAITH and when things was not going well 'Nigerian players are average' That said, let back this team up with songs 'Eagles Oh ro no, Nigeria. Oh ro no, Nigeria', 'When Nigeria win Brazil', 'Winner Oh Oh Oh, Winner, 2X Super Eagles u don win o', 'All we are saying, give us more goals' etc. Indeed, lets make the players feel on the pitch of play, the SUPPORT OF THEIR LOVING AND FORGIVING FANS. Watch out for this space next week by God's grace on the topic 'THE HARD TACKLES'
