Posted: 18 March 2010 Time: 15:37

Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, Mexico's 21-year-old sensation from Guadalajara, scored in the 69th minute to give Bafana Bafana's first World Cup opponents a 2-1 win over North Korea on Wednesday in Torreon.

Known as the 'Little Pea' in his homeland, yesterday's strike It improved Hernandez's tally to four goals in three World Cup warm-ups this year.

Veteran Cuauhtemoc Blanco scored the game's first goal with a 20-yard free kick in the 50th minute, but North Korea equalized seven minutes later when Choe Kum Chol scored.

Mexico are back in action next Wednesday against Iceland at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium in the USA, where more than 55,000 tickets have been sold.

South Africa meet the Mexicans in the opening match of the World Cup at Soccer City on June 11.
