Caps United plot revenge on Moroka Swallows
Caps plot 13-year revenge on Birds

Zimbabwe's Caps United will be hoping to erase bitter memories of their last meeting with South African opponents — 13 years down the line — when they host Moroka Swallows in a Confederation Cup first round, first leg tie at Rufaro on Sunday.
The Zim Daily News recalls that Makepekepe were floored by Orlando Pirates in a Champions League encounter, in their last meeting with a team from across the Limpopo, in 1997.
Having won the domestic league championship the previous year on the back of a refreshing attacking style that won the hearts of many neutrals, the Green Machine were expected to do well in the Champions League.
But they ran into a Pirates trap and not even some of the best attacking talent, assembled in the local Premiership in the post-independence era, could save CAPS United.
It has taken more than a decade, and a change of virtually everything, for Caps United to get their chance for revenge.
Now, the Green Machine comes up against a Swallows side that was one of the best teams, during the closing stages of the Absa Premiership season, with striker Siyabonga Nomvete in brilliant form.
The Dube Birds were knocked out of Telkom Knockout Cup at the weekend by holders Ajax Cape Town who beat them 1-0 at Newlands.
That defeated ended Swallows' unbeaten run since the South African season restarted in January.
