Dutch national broadcaster NOS reports that Guus Hiddink has agreed to coach Ivory Coast at this year's World Cup.

NOS says the Dutchman will lead Ivory Coast from May 15 to July 15 before taking over as Turkey coach.

In its report, NOS says that before signing with Ivory Coast, Hiddink must confirm that his contract with Russia has ended.

Dutch daily De Telegraaf quotes Hiddink's agent Cees van Nieuwenhuizen as saying that the negotiations with Russia are a barrier to the Ivory Coast deal.

Earlier today reports were that the ‘White Witchdoctor' Frenchman Philippe Troussier was vying with the Dutch master in a bid to lead the Elephants.

However, it now seems that the much-travelled 54-year-old who is now general manager of FC Ryukyu, a club in Japan's third-tier division, is out of the race to replace Bosnian Vahid Halilhodzic, who was axed after the Ivory Coast failed to make the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals last month.

Hiddink coached the Netherlands to the World Cup semifinals in 1998, South Korea to the same stage four years later and led Australia at the World Cup in Germany four years ago.

This man is really something special to soccer coaching...he's sheer brilliance personified.Under his guidance, watch Ivory Coast in this World Cup when they play Netherlands (in Cape Town) & Brazil....it's gonna be a cracker & Ivory Coast will be cracking the whip.

Just set your memory back to what he did with Drogba while he was at Chelsea.....yoh, yoh, yoh!!!
