First Division Coastal Stream side FC Cape Town have shown long-serving Johnny Ferreira the exit door and are lining up a coach from Europe to take over the job.
Ferreira has been in charge of the club for more than three years, having taken over just months after the club bought the status of Vasco da Gama in 2006.
Though they managed to reach the Play-offs last season FC Cape Town have struggled this season, finishing their campaign in sixth place.
"We parted ways with Ferreira after he decided that he was not going to take the position that we offered him within our structures when we redeployed him," reveals FC Cape Town owner Errol Dicks.
"He has since decided to pursue his mission of being a head coach elsewhere. We are a club that now wants to follow the ambition of bringing in a new European approach which is why we envisage employing a coach from Europe," explains Dicks.
Dicks adds that he will be making an announcement about the new technical department in due course.
Having sold Emmanuel Emenike and Hassan Wasswa to a Turkish club, FC Cape Town will also be sending Ashley Hartog and Morne Davids to Europe when they return from national duty with Amabinneplaas.
The Cape Town club is still sweating it out at training as they prepare for the Nedbank Cup Last 32 matches which are due to start next month.
