Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet has received a late call-up for the South African Development Team, Amabinneplaas, ahead of their African Nations Championship clash against Botswana in Gaborone this weekend.
Amabinneplaas were thrown into a goalkeeping crisis this week after SuperSport United keeper Jacob Mokhasi and Santos keeper Tshepo Motsoeneng withdrew from the squad.
However, national team coach Serame Letsoaka has moved quickly to fix the goalkeeping problem by also recalling University of Pretoria minder Siya Mngoma who was in the team that played against Swaziland in an international friendly in Mbabane recently.
Amabinneplaas manager Barney Kujane also confirms to KickOff.com that Santos striker Erwin Isaacs and Thuso Phala have also withdrawn from the squad.
"Kurt Lenjties also withdrew from the squad but his place has been taken by Bridget Motha from University of Pretoria.
"Unfortunately we do not have a replacement for Erwin Isaacs who was reported as carrying an injury," the coach added.
Letsoaka declares that his charges are ready for war against the Zebras in the CAF tournament qualifier this weekend.
Speaking to KickOff.com ahead of their departure to Botswana, Letsoaka says he believes his team has done enough to give their best performance at the weekend.
"I don't have much to promise except that we are going to compete hard in Botswana," he says.
