The PSL will unveil a new Absa Premiership trophy next season with SuperSport United keeping the old trophy after winning it three times in a row.
Mamelodi Sundowns became the first team to win the PSL League title trophy three times in a row when they won the title in the 1997/98, 1998/99 and 1999/00 seasons.
SuperSport followed their neighbours by winning the trophy three times in a row, a feat that has never achieved by the two Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
PSL media manager Altaaf Kazi confirms to kickOff.com that the League will unveil a new trophy.
“The trophy won by SuperSport United recently will belong to them forever, that is final,” says Kazi.
“Next season the League will unveil a new trophy.”
