Vasco to retain coach Das Neves

Newly-promoted Vasco Da Gama announce that they will keep their current coach Carlos das Neves when they begin contesting the Absa Premiership next season.

Vasco chairman Mario das Neves confirms that they will retain the services of the former Hellenic player as he had been outstanding for the Cape Town based club this season.

"Carlos has shown his tremendous ability as a coach. He is one of the most underrated coaches in the country but he will show people next season what he is made of."

Mario das Neves also confirms that his club will look for a few additional players to reinforce the team.

"The coach has indicated that he will need at least five players to reinforce certain positions," he adds.

good move, but they must surely change their players, they have old tired legs, they need fresh breeze in that team, I know those are the guys that made them to gain promotion, but thats that, they can not offer anything better.........

You can't fire ur brother, isn't? It's was about time these promoted these respect the coaches that got them promoted and support them instead of ditching them for the so-called more experienced coaches. It's the same thing with players they must keep the core of the team and only sign wisely and not just any reject that is available on the market

not only five with mediocrity players they have i think they need 10 to eleven. no rejects please, 1st player they need is Marawan BANTAM,RUDI ISACCS, DOMANIC ISAACS, CALVIN MALIN, TSO VILAKAZI, SIWAHLA,SHUMANA, MYRON SHONGWE, they can afford these players for sure. release AMORGAM he is flop.

Vasco da Gama to retain Carlos das Neves for at least 6 games. Watch this space. This is SA. My wish is that when they sign PSL players they sign quality and not some old and out of contract players. All the best.
