Questions are being asked in Port Elizabeth as who was responsible for letting Zambian international Given Singuluma slip through the net.
The former Bay United striker has gone on to help his new side, TP Mazembe in the DR Congo, to the lift African Champions League title and yesterday, the CAF Super Cup.
A goal by Zambian compatriot Stopira Sunzu in the first half, and then a second by Singuluma in the second half saw TP down Stade Malien of Mali 2-0 at the Kenya Stadium yesterday.
Singuluma left Umlilo after they were relegated from the PSL.
He claimed at the time that he had seen little game time under Vladismar Heric and then Khabo Zondo during his one season stay there.
Bay management offered him a new deal, but he rejected it saying he wanted action, not money.
He had an offer from Finland, but opted instead to join the DR Congo giants where he has gone from strength to strength playing against the best in Africa.

You editor must get your priorities right. Pierats have let gems slip thru their fingers also, you look at the amestro, perry mutapa, I liked that player with all my heart even though I am hardcore Chiefs, and that Christain Nwaokorie, what fantastic players they were!!! I must commend pierats, they used to sign top-notch foreign player, of late ba reka meroko fela. Perhaps they need to revisit their strategy that worked then or whoever who was employed to sign players. As for my club, we actually have signed more less-quality foreign players than ones who were deemed to be quality. but am happy with our foreign legion from zimbabwe, the haters can kick, scream and cry all they like, those four boys are quality and are so commited. When they are in the squad, I feel happy cos I know we will get the best out of them.
