The Swede, whose last international job was with Mexico, was not on the original shortlist announced by Nigeria, but sent in his application to be considered for the job and is now expected to be one of those to interview for the post.
Sources at the NFF informed KickOffNigeria.com that Eriksson's camp have requested for advice on suitable accommodations in Nigeria and will be expected in the country on February 25.
Sources close to the former Lazio coach say he is 'very keen' on taking on the Nigeria position.
Others expected to be in Abuja are former Senegal coach Bruno Metsu, ex Ghana coach Ratomir Djukovic and Lars Lagerback, who resigned from his Sweden position after failing to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

he's got the eyes to develop players at least we can see today that half of his boys makes up the senior national team even though some useless pple are not happy with that
if our football fails to develop may it never be well with those in charge AMIN o
Stop deceiving urself. we know the truth in nigeria. I have applied severally for super eagles job through this forum, but Colin Udoh has refused to publish it, hahahahahahahaaaaa... Nigerian football has become a laughable concept. Well, it was like that in Ghana few years, but immediately a well known official of ghana football was jailed, things changed automatically, everyone began to buckle up..and we can see where Ghana is today.. But in Nigeria, even with USD$236.000 missing, no once has been pushed close to court, let alone jail, yet we claim to have EFCC, ICPC,OPC and umunne ya..
Hahahahahaaaaa... Nigeria i hail thee.. I am certain about one thing; ONE DAY, PEOPLE WILL BEGIN TO PAY THE PRICES OF THEIR EVIL, BOTH PAST AND PRESENT. ka chineke mezie okwu!
of course the worst performer in the interviews would always get the job, just like Amodu.
i think they should include Amodu once again in the interview, but undoubtedly these are all gimmicks so that at the end of the day, it would be too late or no longer important to hire a coach, hence amodu returns.
Thats the game folks.
NFF "House of commotion" you people want to destroy and cause more confusion in preparations for this world cup by pandering to the whims of "unelected" governor Ameachi and his bands of journey men in PTF, including John Fashonu.
Why thinking of hiring a new coach 3 months to the WC when you have a coach already who qualified your team for the world cup? This is what is killing Nigeria- myopia, ineptitude and corruption.
Amodu "carry go" jare. No one can deny you from reaping the fruit of your labour. Forget about any journey man white coach who just want to get "Ghana must go bag" wages, who want to reap what they could not sow.
There are so many ignorant people in this forum, and I don't know whether they are matured enough to know Nigerian football history from 1999 till date. Since 2000 no coach either Nigerian or foreign has achieved more than Amodu, and the facts are there for any one to see.
Bonfrere had almost lost the 2002 WC ticket to Geaorge Weah's Liberia until Amodu came in and started beating Liberia and Ghana silly and qualified Nigeria, only for the evil baggers of Nigeria to deny Amodu of taking his side to Korea. Same type of accusation that Amodu had "tired" legs and lack technical dept. And they hurriedly got Onigbinde to assemble half-baked age cheating "under-aged" players and SE was humiliated at the world up proper.
Why can't we learn? Give this man-Amodu- his due! You gave him a contract that he should qualify you for world cup and he did. You told him to get to the Semi-finals of AFCON and he surpassed that by getting a bronze, yet you want him sacked 3 months to the WC.
What kind of inept and clueless country is Nigeria. No wonder you have no light, no petrol and no decent hospitals to cure the sick. Which Nigerian public officer, aprt from probably Fashola, has delivered 1/7th of what Amodu has delivered on his contract to his employers? Is it the sleeping- when he was well and absconded when sick Yar'Adua, or the thieving and corrupt governors.
I beg you people should go and face your problems, because Amod is not the problem.
AMODU should have been left to complete this WC with a consortium of other coaches such as Siasia, Keshi and Rufai.
After the world cup we can now start all over again. The changes of the crew and team at this late hour will certainly not help us win the world cup but will take us steps back.
THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH
Amodu has done a very good Job but still was sacked, I said it last time that if Jesus come to Nigeria as our team coach he will be sacked, A country of No heros.
Wait and see how our team will be disgraced at the WC and all the enemies of Amodu will be no where to be found.
If we go to WC with 10 oyinbo coach, will be disgraced because we are ungrateful to Amodu and disallowed him to ripe his fruit of labour.
Ride on Amodu and continue laughing and Laughing, later OBJ and Ojukwu will be invited for inteview to be our coach
EMAN
make dem add u lol...
