Lulu: NFF bowed to public opinion

NFF President Sani Lulu Abdullahi says the Glass House were forced to bow to the wishes of Nigerians, who wanted an expatriate Technical Adviser for the national team.
"The Federation was sensitive to the demands of passionate Nigerians, both highly–placed and not–so-highly placed, for a Technical Adviser who will drive the team to play professionally and with discipline as the FIFA World Cup finals approach," Lulu said in Abuja on Monday at a breakfast meeting with the President of African Business Round-table, Alhaji (Dr.) Bamanga Tukur.
Last Friday, the NFF demoted Shuaibu Amodu to the Super Eagles B side, and released a shortlist of six candidates to replace him, and Lulu said the idea was to see the Super Eagles perform creditably at the first–ever World Cup finals to be staged on African soil, noting that “football is one of the instruments that nations now use to position themselves in the international sphere.”
The NFF President was accompanied by Assistant General Secretary (Competitions), Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, Special Assistant Tunde Aderibigbe, Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire and personal assistant Suleiman Yusuf.
