Goalkeeper Essam El Hadary led five players from the championship-winning team Egypt named in the All star selection.
Angola surprisingly had two players in the list, ahead of Ghana, while no player from the Ivory Coast was listed.

Three or four things I want to say:
1) Amodu is a decent coach and should be left to take SE to the world cup. We must learn from the experience of 2002! However he should be given some tehnical assistant. This man has been unfairly criticised and some would have melted under the attack, but he did not. Here is a man who was given a job and a mandate to qualify for the world cup and semifinal in the AFCON and he delivered on both counts, yet some ignorant and uninformed "coaches" and idle and currupt PTF members are calling for a replacement with one foreign coach. Like the excellent governor Fashola (SAN) of Lagos state asked: Where is that foreign coach who has qualified a country for 2010 that has no job now that should take Amodu's job? Those forumites shouting here and wallowing in ignorance should answer the governor! Or you want to bring a jobless foreign coach like Berti Vogts or those who failed to qualify their country because you don't like Amodu's face?
2) The problem of the Eagles is not so much of a coach than of personnel- the players. They do not show much commitments in the field, playing like they don't care much and trying to show off individual skills that lead no where. The type of "I am ready to die in the field" for my country attitude adopted by Ghananians, the Cameroon and Egypt in every competition. Nigeria suffers this fate with the Ivory Coast in every tournament. Look at how Ghananians were blocking the SE in the semi-finals with all their strenght, bodies and ready to share blood. The Black stars were outplayed by the SE in that match but the determination and commitment of the young black stars ensured they won. If I may ask is it Amodu's fault that despite the black stars linning up their defense, 4 clear chances were created and Martins failed to score 3, and Osaze Odemwingie failed to score once. May be Amodu should kick the ball inside the net!
3) The SE lack a creative midfielder and they desperately need one soon, but if they can't get one before the world cup- just 4 months away- then we need Olofinjana in the holding midfield role and Mikel properly trained to become the creator with Kanu coming in after half time to replace Mikel. Mikel is a bit slow and he should work on his fitness and pace and stop frequent backwards passes which slows the Nigerian game. I just wonder why Kanu and Olofinjana were not brought in for the Ghana match at some stage. Olofinjana has scored some spectacular goals for Hull city in the EPL and he is robust and strong in the holding role. Recently he has started shooting from 30 yards and scoring like Sunday Oliseh used to do.
Finally I just think some players taken to Angola 2010 are not matured yet for SE roles: Nwaneri, Yosuf Mohammed in defence and the likes of Etuhu in midfield should be dropped and replaced with new players or even old ones like Adeleye who are better and more confident players.
Let Amodu be, atleast this same coach went to Paris and beat the world class french team in their own backyard. So those people talking nonsense about SE been beaten 10-0 by Spain or Argentina will see when we get to South Africa. African football is even tougher than playing Oyibo people. Amodu should however use the FIFA free days and get the boys to traing on time.
God bless SE, God bless Amodu, God bless Fashola the only intelligent governor and lover of sport in that country!
