Mpumalanga’s football fraternity is reeling with shock and sadness after two players died yesterday in motor car accident at KwaMhlanga, near Witbank.

The two, who play for Impikayipheli FC, a team campaigning in SAB regional league, died when the minibus they were travelling in overturned on their way to a league fixture in Mpumalanga.

According to a Sowetan newspaper report, one player is still in a critical condition.

“A tyre burst, and when the driver tried to get the vehicle under control it overturned. Two players died and six escaped with injuries,” Safa Ekangala regional president Henry Mhlongo told the publication.

Indeed may their soul rest in peace. i know one of the deceased his name is Sunday, he was a striker, a good one. I had a chance watching them playing in December e Congo(soocer field in Witbank. This guy loved football, coz i remember him as a young boy playing with us and we were older than him but still he was competing. The one who is in critical condition, his name is Wonder he too was a good player, I watched him playing as a defender and he was really good. I am not praising them just because one has passed and the other one in critical condition I am for real I know these guys. Wonder once played for a team named Liverpool in Witbank I watched him playing and he was Good.Unfortunately I do not remember the other deceased. I WISH ALL THE INJURED A SPEEDY RECOVERY AND MAY THE SOUL OF THE DECEASED REST IN PEACE.
