Swaziland’s Mbabane Swallows change their CAF Champions League fixture against SuperSport United from Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit to Somhlolo Stadium in Swaziland on February 13.
Initially Swallows had picked Nelspruit as their home venue after acquiring unnamed sponsorship in Mpumalanga to take the game to Mbombela Stadium.
Sbusiso Manana, CEO of the Swazi Birds, confirms to KickOff.com that their first leg fixture against Matsatsa ntsa will remain at Somhlolo Stadium on February 13 after successful meeting with Swazi Minister of Sport in their bid of keep the CAF game in their homeland.
“The reason for taking the game going to Nelspruit was financial but the Minister has since convinced us to keep the game against SuperSport in Swaziland after promising that her office will try to help us as much as possible to cater some of the expenses of participating in the CAF competition,” says Manana.
Swallows have since roped in former Moroka Swallows coach Walter ‘Mr Fix-it’ Rautmann to help them prepare for the match against SuperSport.
