The Chipolopolo are due to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations that starts in Angola next week.
“It’s a great feeling to officially become a husband after being involved in a relationship with my fiancé for a long time. I would have loved to have gone on honeymoon soon after the wedding but I had to rush back to the Zambian national team camp.
“We have postponed the honeymoon until the end of the season because as soon as the Nations Cup finishes in Angola, I have to go back to South Africa to help AmaZulu get into a better position on the log.”
Kakonje and Annette, who live in Durban, are blessed with a three-year old daughter, Tika.
