More problems for PSL

The PSL’s compressed season has hit another snag following the release of fixtures dates for next year’s CAF continental competitions.
SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates are involved in the CAF Champions League, while Moroka Swallows will be participating in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Although the three clubs may not have any major problems in fulfilling their first leg away matches on the continent on the weekend of February 12-14, they will definitely face obstacles for the return legs at home a fortnight later on February 28 as this is weekend that the PSL has set for their last fixtures and all 16 clubs are set to play on the same day.
Pirates and SuperSport have scheduled away matches against Bloemfontein Celtic and AmaZulu, respectively while Swallows host Jomo Cosmos on the last day of the season on February 28.
The PSL is already facing a backlog of fixtures as matches have been postponed in the past eight days because of rain and is under pressure to finish the season at the end of February.
Should the three clubs progress further in the two competitions they will be forced to fulfil their matches in Africa without their Bafana Bafana stars who will be away with the national when further rounds are played in March, April and May.
CAF has also indicated that the deadline for the registration of players is December 15.
