Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele says the Black Stars should feel confident regardless of what opponent they get in the World Cup draw on Friday which he says will demonstrate South Africa's readiness to stage a wonderful World Cup.
Abedi will attend the draw in Cape Town on Friday in anticipation of a great show pointing out that the event after all the years of criticisms will be another strong indicator of how far South Africa has come in preparations for the tournament.
“There have been a lot of criticisms but with every step South Africa has showed it can do it. They did the preliminary draw in grand style and staged a fine Confederations Cup,” he said.
On the draw itself, Abedi reckons the Black Stars he captained for many years should have no worries about who they get.
“Whether it is Germany, Brazil or whatever big team, I know that is the sort of game the players will love. The big games excites them so I would rather we got one of those because it brings the best out in the Ghana players, they play with great motivation,” he said.
Abedi insist Ghana's performance in the last World Cup and the progress many of the players have made since then should give them reason for hope.
