VV has plan to neutralise SuperSport

Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic has labelled SuperSport United the best team in the League and believes tonight’s League encounter against the defending champions at Loftus is an important fixture that should determine where the Amakhosi stand in terms of staying in contention for the Premiership title.
Vermezovic’s team is eight points adrift of the defending champions who are also enjoying sitting at the top as the jammed second round fixtures get into motion.
“This is another important game for us that we need to win to stay in the race. SuperSport United is the best team in the League and they always have a Plan B in the way they play their football. But we are going to play our game against SuperSport and not worry about how what their strengths are,” says Vermezovic.
The Serbian coach states that he has a solid plan to neutralise dangerous set pieces which is the trademark match winning strategy of Gavin Hunt’s team.
VV also makes it no secret that he adores United’s Liberian striker Anthony Laffor who has been at the forefront of the goal scoring exploits of the Tshwane club.
“I am sure everyone knows that knows how good SuperSport is at set-pieces. So what we need to do is be careful about that aspect otherwise we will be punished. Based on what I have seen of SuperSport, Laffor is the player that I like because he is dangerous in the way he plays.
“People will tell me that they have scored 33 goals but we are not thinking about that because they have only scored once against us,” says Vermezovic whose team got a referee-aided win on Friday against Santos.
“Mistakes are part of the game and I will tell you now that there have been instances before this season when we have also been victims of bad refereeing. Soccer is not a play station,” he says.
Questioned about if he will be beefing up his squad Vermezovic emphasised the fact that his job is more to do with coaching.
