Namibia has been chosen as the new campsite for the Super Eagles training in preparation for next year's Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

NFF Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire told KickOffNigeria.com that original plans to camp in South Africa were shelved on the advice of the Nigeria High Commissioner to Angola, His Excellency Layiwola Laseinde.

"The High Commissioner informed the NFF top brass during the draws in Luanda that the weather in Namibia will be very similar to that in Angola, while South Africa will be very cold at that time.

"So his advice was for us to camp in Namibia rather than in South Africa, and the NFF have decided to take his advice."

According to Olajire, the High Commissioner is very interested in the wellbeing of the team, and has promised to mobilise the more than 5000 Nigerians in Angola to support the team during the tournament.

The use of filthy & dirty language is making dis site stink! It shows d character & intents of d heart of those who post such comments. It's not enough to criticize or support Yar'Adua, Amodu or d NFF but when we do, lets do it with a sense of humility & decorum knowing fully well dat they were appointed 2 represent us. Dis rude & reckless languages show d ineptitude attitude of those governed by these leaders. These attitude show how difficult it could be 4 dem 2 make d true changes we all clamour for. LET THERE BE A CHANGE AND LET AMODU REMAIN.

In fact, i have had enough of this Amodu saga.
As an ardent supporter of the super eagles and Nigerian football and patriot, i have aired my honest views and will stand by it even in my grave.
Amodu needs help, lets stop the pretext and sentiments!!!!
But if the highest football and sports authority sees it different, so be it.
I wish the super eagles, Amodu well, i am praying for the nations cup return to Nigeria and a semi-final berth during the world cup in june next year. I sincerely pray that if any reference should be made to my post in the later days to come, may it be done positively. Amen.
@ Doyin, Johnson, Ken Gadaffi, Kolawole, Socca prof, Billion, Coache, Upson, Don, Hehehehe, Mike, Garvey, Nelson, the list is endless....
you guys are woderful.
Make no mistake about it, Amodu needs technical help.
For me it is case closed in regards to this topic.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record I hasten to remind some nameless jerk that our report sheet in the qualifiers is a confirmation of Amodu's abilities and an indictment of those doomsayers who wished him bad. Let's give him the opportunity and see what he can achieve at the world stage instead of getting some cook who will spoil the broth. Our formation remains 4-4-2, unless u want to try the diamond formation of present day Chelsea. As far as am concerned, the likes of Etuhu and Olofinjana should battle for the defensive midfield position while Mikel tackles the attacking role. Meanwhile, Odemwingie should be given a free role a la Ronaldo. We can all be coaches if allowed to but Amodu is in charge right now and deserves our prayers and support.

@Billion et others,

I know many have gone too far with their criticisms & many have not displayed an iota of decency in voicing their opinions. However, I think all those running our football (Administrators & coaches alike) should see this as an indication of the high expectations of Nigerians.

Football is not a matter of life & death; it's more serious than that!

What happened in the aftermath of Egypt vs Algeria in Sudan & France vs Ireland has proven this. So what our people should be thinking of is how to put up a great show in Angola & S. Africa.
Personally, anything short of a final appearance in Angola & a Q/Final berth in SA is not good enough, This is becos i know we have the players to do it but the technical aspect is the issue.

Honestly, I would like Amodu to go to the ANC & WC but he has to drop ego & sentiments & go for the best backroom staff he can get. Brazil has an amazing array of coaches, scouts, spies, fitness trainers, statisticians, diet specialists, psychologists etc as their backroom staff. All these are managed for effective result by the head coach.
So I advise Amodu to go for an expanded backroom staff that will help his cause. Top on his list should be Simon Kalika (becos he's both a fitness trainer & great tactical coach), then maybe people like Emenalo as scouts, Siasia, Oliseh as spies & match readers & a great psychologist added to the mix.

Believe me with a great backroom staff, Amodu will turn to a hero overnight! But does he have the big heart to do this? Time will tell. But someone (esp. Billion, Ken Ghadaffi, et al) shuld please remind him that:

"Football is not a matter of life & death; it's more serious than that!"

i really wonder who is either making the mistake, or not telling the truth here. could it be kickoff (reporting wrongly), or the NFF (misquoting/mishearing/misunderstanding the high commissioner), or the high commissioner (misunderstanding geography).
whoever it is, the weather in south africa cannot "be very cold" between now and the nations cup in january 2010. it will still be summer in SA then. pls check your geography notes.
and how about telling us a more acceptable 'story'; or the truth?

CHUCK: 2009-11-24 15:27

The success of Amodu on ACN depends on the his selection.Home base prayers with speed and determination are better than foreign base players.

ken gadaffi: 2009-11-24 15:36

good talk birikiti, i am sure AMODU reads comments on this site and if not he has people who will pass your comments to him.

ken gadaffi: 2009-11-24 16:04

i have some simple posers.
1. If Guus Hindink had stayed back at chelsea and Russia failed to qualify, people would have attributed it to his absence.
2. If Amodu had been sacked after the draw in Maputo, and a new coach failed to qualify Nigeria for the world cup, people would still have heaped the blame on AMODU.

However, God has shown once again that he is more than man.

AMODU REMAINS

THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH

val: 2009-11-24 16:25

@Frank, am quite convinced that you very well enlightened, please desist from referring to others as "jerks" all because they do not share same view with you. In all life endeavors, there are oppositions who have either had their ways and won, or helped for a better performance and positioning of a particular cause, in politics, sports, health etc.

dozie: 2009-11-24 18:13

thats a heart warming news nff. but pls u guys should let amodu know that he needs to try a lot of players for our attacking midfield position. let him not bank on mikel. that dude has lost the magic. we have young men that he can still try in that middle. Haruna and rabiu can be tried in that middle. they only need to play matches with others. y saying that the young man is not ripe?? when will hw be ripe?? perhaps @ 100yrs. Now we have time for friendlies. For Gods sake extend invitations to all players with nigerian blood. Algeria did it, mali did it and got kanoute. the aogos, edes, coles, ogbonnas, okakas and the rest. then lest see who will not come. For now we can only boast of good attacking line. possibly an above average defensive midfield. But our defence and attacking middle needs an urgent surgical repair. Unless u want us to start clamouring for the return of Jay Jay. Pls nff the earlier the better. Amodu take note.
we are rightly behind u.
more lucks to ur career.

FE is for us all. No more war. Lets pray and support them. both the coaching crew and the players

I tell you what... South African weather is not cold between December and March. Rather give a valid reason for your decisions, or give me a break!
