Bafana Bafana will face Japan on Saturday in a new jersey following the launch of the official World Cup strip.

Not much different from the current one, other than it being a whole lot sleeker and bearing a small South African flag, it was the one chosen from 21 alternatives by the Bafana players and technical team.

It is Bafana’s 16th jersey in the last 11 years – and hopefully this one will provide the magic as the team look to reach the second round at next year’s showpiece.

Meanwhile, jersey sponsors adidas also unveiled an initiative to get as many of the country’s citizens to sign a massive replica – almost the size of a soccer pitch – before the tournament kicks off.

Its suppose to bring the team good luck and i hope and i trust that it does that. So now adidas must produce jerseys for the FANS so that we look different from the TEAM but colours should be the same come on adidas we what to be part of this good luck charm. Less all support the TEAM guys the more we encourage them the more they will do us proud WIN or LOSE we should be behind the TEAM

Do SAFA thinks that a new, beautiful kit will bring good luck? That's amazing. Personally, I don't think the old kit brought bad luck at all. It was not the kit but I don't know what brought them bad luck.

I bought one but it have the Protea Logo, Are all of them like that?....... If so why didnt they include the Protea just as the players jersey... it's the best so far... mind you people we get a home jersey every two years, if you do your calculations you will realise that we were due for change just like every other countries sponsored by adidas, I love it.. can't wait to see the away jersey though
