Will Segolela's form cause problems for Pirates?

Segolela, Walaza to hurt Bucs?

Segolela, Walaza to hurt Bucs?

Tlou Segolela and Excellent Walaza could hurt Orlando Pirates this Sunday when Bloemfontein Celtic travel to Soweto.

The pair who are on loan from Bucs to Celtic have been declared available for the big Absa Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium.

Segolela has been in dynamic form as Owen Da Gama's team continue to impress. Walaza has not had quite as big an impact but remains a threat inside the danger area.

Unlike Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United who at times do not allow players loaned to opposition teams to play against them, Bucs do not have any restrictions.

Tony Tsabedze and Fanyana Mokoena (formerly Dhladhla) were victims of the United and Sundowns rule when they played for Maritzburg United last season.

Celtic CEO Ikie Augousti confirmed that both players will be available for selection on Sunday.

“There are no restrictions. Pirates don’t do that and nor do we. Depending on the technical team’s decision, they will play against Pirates,” he says.

Augousti says they will not be fooled about Bucs' poor performance in recent games.

“The outcome of big games like this are not determined by past performances, but by what players can offer on the field,” he adds.

Pirates have also confirmed that midfielder Phenyo Mongalo will be available for selection on Sunday.

Mongalo failed to finish the game against Maritzburg United on Wednesday after complaining of stomach cramps. However, according to the team’s doctor Thabiso Mmoledi, he has been declared to play.

“Mongala complained of pains below his ribs and I assessed him after he was replaced in the second half," Mmoledi says.

"I found that he was suffering from muscular cramps. Luckily, it is not so serious; he will be fine and should be available for selection for our next match against Celtic,” Mmoledi explained on Pirates’ website.

Pirates are so stupid...how do you loan out players to other teams, pay their salaries in full and you play against them (your own employees). You lend Zimbabwe a battallion of army to fight Zambia. When a war breaks out between SA and Zim...that batallion fights on the side of Zim. Its madness!!!

Tebza: 2009-11-06 13:40

These players will be available to torment the Pierats.
A free note to Mashobana: When a player is on loan, his original team will pay his salary. However, the team that has loaned him, will reimburse his original team all these expenses. So, Celtic and not Pierats is paying for Segolela and Walaza’s salaries and wages.
