The Nigeria Football Federation are non-committal about whether or not they will encourage or support Under-17 captain Fortune Chukwudi to challenge in a court of law, claims by Adokiye Amiesimaka that he is ineligible for the Under-17 tournament.
Barrister Musa Amadu, the NFF's Acting General Secretary, told KickOffNigeria.com that it was up to Chukwudi to decide whether or not to pursue the matter.
"It is the player's prerogative whether or not he wants to take legal action," Amadu said. "It is not for the Federation to do."
But when asked if the NFF would encourage the player to go down that route, Amadu obfuscated.
"Well, that would depend on if he wants us to. In that case, he would have to write to us, and that would be through his solicitors and we will look into it."
Various sources in Port Harcourt have confirmed that Chukwudi did indeed, play for the Sharks feeder team in the period mentioned by Amiesimaka.
