FIFA make Nigeria goof

FIFA make Nigeria goof

Posted: 31 October 2009 Time: 10:52 am

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets classed their way to a 2-1 win over Argentina on Friday afternoon in Bauchi, taking them to the top of the group, but it appears someone at FIFA did not get the memo.

The world football governing body's website after the game listed Argentina and Germany as the two qualified teams from the group, totally omitting Nigeria.

Argentina were correctly inputted in as group winners to meet the second placed team from group C. But Germany, who were yet to qualify at the time, were listed as the group winners to face the best loser from either of groups C, D or E in match no 44.

The error was corrected on Saturday morning.

After going down 3-0 in the first match many people wrote the team off but they stunned their doubters to come back from the dead to draw levels 3-3 But the team had faith in themselves and have gone on to top the group..... I hope the fans that booed them on that day will start going back to the stadium to cheer them as they ride to the crown.

Lets believe and have faith in our team. The SE will be at SA if only we believe and support our team to the end.

Maybe those BOOs are making the boys to play better. If the Fans can keep those boos up, these Eaglets may retain their Golden colour.

this shows anybody can make mistake. if fifa.com can goofed, then nobody should blame KON sometime if they make mistake. i dont believe they did it intentionally. it might be typographic error or oversight. which ever way, we know we have qualified.
