Don’t go on Bucs’ form – Yeye

In-form Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane believes current form will count for nothing on Saturday in the Soweto Derby and fans should not read anything into Orlando Pirates’ poor form of late.
Letsholonyane – with three goals in the last four League games to his credit – says he doesn’t want to be deceived by Pirates form of late. (Bucs are without a win in the last five League games and have scored just twice during that period.)
“The Derby is whatever happens on the day and not what has been happening in the games before. We don’t care how they played or how they have been playing. What matters to us is our own performance and getting the result that we want. How Pirates play is not important to us,” says Letsholonyane.
“Our motto is to take each game as it comes, so we will not treat Saturday any differently. To us, it’s a game that is like any other, where we hope to get a favourable result,” adds the midfielder.
"Playing at Orlando is just a bonus for me"

Yeye has been in encouraging form since returning from his horror pre-season injury inflicted by former Pirates’ player Blaise Kiaku and will be hoping his rich vein of form continues at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
However, he downplays suggestions that playing at Orlando Stadium, which is a walking distance from his home in Meadowlands is a good omen for him, having scored in the last two games at the new stadium.
“I don’t think it’s only here at Orlando that I have played well, but I have been playing well since I returned from injury. I have been improving with each game which is something that I am working towards maintaining.
“Playing at Orlando is just a bonus for me,” reasons Letsholonyane, who was deservedly named Man of the Match in Wednesday’s in the 2-0 win over Golden Arrows.
“I think it was important for us to win at home this week because, as you know, it was also the first home game that we have won this season,” he adds.
For Pirates to neutralise Chiefs in attack they will have to monitor ‘Yeye’ as he has built an appetite of venturing into the box at will. This being the case, young Andile Jali will have a huge responsibility on his shoulders.
