Golden Arrows players will not be getting anything extra for winning the MTN8 Cup Final.
This was revealed by Abafana Bes’hende owner Mato Madlala when she told KickOff.com, “Why do players have to be paid incentives when they get paid for playing football and their job is winning the Cup?
“At Arrows, we don’t talk about incentives. “We don’t pay incentives; this is our culture and nothing is going to change. You only get rewarded by the personal achievement you get on the field of play.”
Madlala congratulated her team for a wonderful performance displayed beating Ajax Cape Town 6-0 at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Arrows wrote their own history when they brought back a trophy to KwaZulu\Natal. It is more than 15 years since AmaZulu won the Coca-Cola Cup in 1992.
Arrows accomplished their feat in great style when they beat the Urban Warriors by 6-0 in Soweto on Saturday.
Madlala added that there would not be any celebrations either for winning the Cup as their main focus now remains on their campaign in the Absa Premiership this season.
“I am happy for myself; I am happy for my players and for the whole team. They worked hard for this and deserve it. Unfortunately, there won’t be time to hold celebrations as we are also playing on Wednesday and the weekend and now the focus has to remain with the League.”
